bit of both but mainly "choose your own adventure".

Thats the great thing about a parliamentary enquiry, many local members of parliament are affiliated in some way with junior & ammo clubs because of the votes involved. The inquiry is a great opportunity for grass roots football.

We will all find out if it’s great for grass roots footy when it’s all done and dusted.
I wouldn’t be counting on anything at this stage.

ok I give up.
Where do you think the money is spent now if it isn't been spent on football progams all over western Australia.

I think that we will find that actual organisation has taken over from the purpose for its existence. It will be like the salvo's and red cross where the admin is worth more than the benefit!

The solution is have two quite separate process one for development (community stuff upto say 16 for both sexes) and one for 17 on! the funding administered by a trust arrangement with the pool of money dispersed using some model that allows both to undertake roles.
We live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so stupid people won't be offended

Why don’t we wait to see what the committee has to say Voice of Reason.

I don’t think WAFL will do any better out of a review financially, I tend to agree that they will find we do quite well. My hope would be they screw us over totally and we learn to get off the teet and stand up for ourselves more.

Could lead to great things.

The income of the WAFC is far greater than the Gov't grants and it is ludicrous for people to insinuate that the total $9m salaries is solely out of the $11m Govt money.
The WAFC is there to develop Aussie rules in WA, not just to cater for the WAFL who years ago gave up its right to have any say in the way football in WA is run.
He who pays the piper calls the tune.
The enquiry will show that there is no widespread waste of taxpayers money as has been suggested on this site. All the funds have gone back into WA football yes some of the salary levels can be questioned but the salaries are paid to run programs.
There will not be any extra funds for WAFL who already get there fair share unless they are given funds to take over running programs currently done by the WAFC ie . Colts or junior development.
So don't hold your breath waiting for mass axing of staff etc for any other reason than the WAFC is suffering the same financial impact of Covid 19 ss many other business have.

they havn't lost any govt funding as yet.
like many businesses they are using Covid as an excuse to mask existing issues

1. Al the income does not come from the Gov't (5th time I have stated this)
2. There permanent staff would not have been able to qualify for Jobkeeper if they weren't able to show the drop of income.
3. What issues are they masking.
4. All this started because of a disgruntled employee who couldn't take that other were being paid more than they were and leaked a confidential pay summary to the press.
5. Now every man and his do wants to have a piece of the WAFC because they dared spend money on salaries to run programs (again yes I admit that some of the salaries would appear high.

Jack in 1989 the Burke state government bailed out the Eagles+Wafl debt. And set up the Wafc to run footy in Wa.

Understand that, XU1 - but the Commission is not a government department.

For a start, its employees are not public servants, otherwise this current salaries fiasco would not be happening.

Its not a Government Department as such but its a Quasi Autonomous Goverment Organization with a governing constitution that as it turns out has been funded by tax payers to the tune of 11 Mill a year.

Here is my tip, the inquiry will look at the 350,000 participants and ask themselves how they are benefitting from the investment? Its very questionable that funds are not flowing through to grass roots clubs i.e. Juniors and Ammo's which make up the vast majority of participants .

When the Government figures out that a very significant portion of their own funding is used to pay the wages of a very small portion of semi-professional players in the WAFL - the shit will hit the fan.

The WAFC doesnt pay WAFL Player payments - how on earth do you work that out.

Beacuse at SWans they have a Turnover of $4m+ yet their player payments are $276k. or 7% of income.
The WAFC contributes 12.5% of Swans income
