Thanks all...just to be clear I'm only interested in the top 5 players for each club since 2000 regardless of what they achieved outside of the WAFL. Given I'm a WAFL tragic I don't really care if they went onto stellar AFL careers like Buddy or whether they came from somewhere other than your zone...I just want to know who are the top 5 WAFL footballers at each club. I guess it's an exercise in subjectivity and find it interesting that we all see our own clubs through a different prism and even supporters of the same club see things differently. From my own experience I wouldn't fault any Subi supporter putting say Darren Rumble in their list given his service and dedication to the club but is he one of the top five over the last 20 years? Probably not but it's all down to opinion.

Its funny isn't it. Been listening to the commentators talking about the top 20 players at each club since 1987 on that fox footy live show. Mostly it's midfielders, forwards and the odd ruckman thrown in.

The defenders tend to get forgotten about a bit but they are equally important to a successful team.

I think Mick Martyn was something like 18 for North Melbourne. David King said he'd have him top 5 easily as he played on the likes of Ablett, Dunstall, Kernahan, Lockett week in week out and usually held his own.

Darren Rumble and Aidan Parker were both great defenders and you can easily make a case for either of them to be top 5 as you say BC.

Hopefully we'll get someone like Baz or Southy on here as the likes of Schloithe, Tim Kelly, Marlion Picket, Hams, Ryan Cook, Brock Higgins would all be prominent you'd think.

Young, CJ, Bossong, JKT, Sinclair. Honourable mentions to Siekerka, Glover, Brendan Jones, Dene White, Bevan, Moody, Tropiano and the very unlucky Brett Hodge.

For Perth I would add Kade Lang, Daniel O Sullivan and Mark Coghlan as more than than handy as well. Also Simon Rudd and the ruckman who played at the same time whos name escapes me

Using this criteria a kid played for East Perth. BOG every game. Pity he played once. Judd
