I'm not being sarcastic, but one has to ask how much longer our state football league will be known as the WAFL? I will be losing a lot of interest in it I'm very sad to say if the deal proceeds, which it looks like doing. :(

Good point. As it will no longer a Grass Roots game here with AFL players not playing with their club of origin.
I suppose WAFL could stand for WA Football Loses
or
WA Football Loss.

You watch, the AFL will demand it be renamed to SWAFL Western Conference, and the SANFL SWAFL Southern Conference, and the eventual 4 AFL reserves sides will be able to play against one another.

In the Finals they'll be able to play against Sydney and Brisbane from the NEAFL.

Terrible. Unfortunately they didnt learn from the mistake of alienating traditional fans.
I mean seriously, introduce a new team AND change the name of the competition at the same time...!!!???
