Given what happened with Kelmy and the hard line approach the league and new President and Board took (and rightfully so). It will be interesting to see what they do here with these 2 clubs.

15 weeks. Biggest suspension outside of lifetime ban I've ever heard about. Congrats to the WAAFL hierarchy for sending a clear message regarding thuggery in football

Personally I would've preferred an immediate de-registration of the player.

35.10 Offences and Penalties
a) A player found guilty of a Reportable Offence:
i. is ineligible to win a "Fairest and Best" award for that year;
ii. is ineligible to play in any representative team while under
suspension.
iii. shall serve his suspension in the grade from which the report was
made irrespective of any other team the club may have.
b) With the exception of the Melee Rule, where a player whilst playing in the
WAAFL has accumulated a combined total of 12 weeks suspension or been
found guilty of a reportable offence on three separate occasions in any one
year, or receives a suspension of 5 weeks or more for any one incident
resulting in a reportable offence, shall have his registration cancelled.

One wonders, as deregistration was not reported anywhere if the tribunal knows the correct rules as you have outlined.

Should be. However he is no kid. 34 year old as per reported on news Monday night.

As I understand it you can apply for re-registration after serving suspension but acceptance is not automatic, it is at the leagues discretion. ( I do stand to be corrected if this is not the case)
