Game at Warnbro was played hard and fair, except for an act by 1 High Wycombe dog who should be sanctioned by his footy club. The High Wycombe umpire took it straight to the Tribunal, for that we can be thankful, but the umpires Father, who is the President of said Club should make a stand for the integrity of High Wycombe and let everyone know acts like king hitting a young fella shouldn't be tolerated anywhere. Young Colt playing his first ever game of League gets concussed behind play with a round house from behind, in an act even Shaun Hildebrandt told our Coach he had never seen in 15 years of playing footy. Geoff Palmer had to ring the young lad at school this morning to see whether he thought 3-4 weeks would be sufficient??? Well I don't think it is and call on High Wycombe to act with respect to the game we love? Well what say you?

If number 1 kept his hands to himself during the game he wouldn't have got hit in the first place I'm sure a lot of clubs have had the same problem going out to warnbro this year with them clearly being the filthiest club in the comp! Welcome to playing with the big boys

Dogs10 what a disgraceful comment. Grow a set of balls you twit. Never had an issue playing warnbro. Always a hard fought game and plenty of beers after. Every one knows in the comp who the dirty side is....woof

Saddles were you even watching the game?? Maybe a young kid but if you were watching the game he was throwing elbows and fists, learning off of your older thugs no. 3 and the dark old fella in the middle. It goes both ways. And as for the hit were you watching the whole thing, did you not see the high Wycombe player on the ground as he was trying to get up get hit with a closed fist from this young fella. So what does that make him ??? What about your 6 spectators that ran in to fight on the field what about your umpire pushing high Wycombe players and water boys. Think you have to look at yourselfs if you think your team and club are angels. And just make sure you seen the hit because it def wasn't from behind.

if there is any truth behind that part of Geoff Palmer ringing the player hit and asking him if he's happy with the high wycombe player receiving 3 or 4 weeks without having a hearing is piss poor, sounds like a quick sweep under the carpet and move on. Surely both parties would won't to put there cases forward as already some differences in what happen prior and in that particular incident. Good luck getting it sorted.

Dogs03 I certainly was watching the game and as you were advised after the game when your President was abusing our umpire, - same bloke who has umpired 4 'A' Grade WAAFL Grand Finals and 5 Avon Valley Grand Finals in the past 8-9 years - the Waterboy, another son of the President, was asked to stop manhandling players and subsequently sent off. And you are right in saying the old bloke in the middle was hard at it, he was protecting a young bloke who doesn't know how to protect himself from thugs - and he did it in his 200th game for our Club.

Dogs10 it's nice of you to defend your brother No. 5 but we all know the young fella didn't do that, and after watching him for 2 years in the Colts he's never done that - yeah some of them chuck their testosterone but not this lad. I just hope it doesn't dampen his desire to have a hit out with "the big boys" again.

That's the way things work now... Geoff Palmer calls the reporting umpire to get his version of events, then calls both players involved for their version and offers a penalty. If there is any discrepancy in the testimony of any party, or if any party is unhappy with the penalty offered, then the matter proceeds to a full tribunal. It's the WAAFL's way to minimise the amount of tribunal hearings, taking players and umpires away from training sessions and putting more strain on volunteer club advocates and tribunal members.

I think you will find that it was 2 High Wycombe spectators who ran into the melee and tried to man handle players. Whilst one umpire was dealing with the "thug" and getting him of the field, the other umpire was pushing those spectators out of the melee. Spectators have no right to involve themselves with players during a game. That's where king hits come from, gutless spectators who run into packs. The water 'little boy' was also in there trying to get to the W/S players, so he deserved to get shoved out of there and sent off for the rest of the game.

BTW, whilst this was going on, the trainers were still trying to treat the W/S player who was still laying on the ground motionless.

I can vouch that High Wycombe is filth, even in C1 last year, their melee's even in colts were problematic, right through to their league - terrible club
