Firstly, there is never any reason (retaliation to another incident or otherwise)for someone to be punched, round armed or king hit on a footy field at any level of footy.

Secondly, for spectators to get involved is a disgrace to BOTH Clubs and action should be taken to repremand those idiots involved!

Everytime one of these incidents occurs, both teams players or members will come out and you get two polar opposite versions of events.

I don't think coming on an internet chat forum and labelling a person a dog is the best way to resolve the problem, take it up through official channels at your own club then the WAAFL and if that fails go to higher powers!

If it can be proved that spectators have entered the arena then the side that these spectators are on should loose the game outright. There is no right for spectators to enter the arena regardless of what happens on the field.

Hard to know what happened, but to king hit or round house someone is a gutless action regardless of what happened before hand.

Clubs need to be stronger here, Do you really want that person involved in your club, regardless of what happened before hand? Loose cannons always cause trouble, and it appears as though High Wycombe has more than most.

I remember a game last year when their spectators turned on each other, Surely the people running high Wycombe cant be proud of this stuff happening at their club.

Oh and the WAAFL association will do stuff all, they are the must gutless mob of self indulgent administrators I have seen and to not have a tribunal to save time for volunteers is a very weak way to make their wages each week and contributes to clubs with ongoing issues like this......

I thought that the game was a good hard contested game with a bit of heat coming from both sides . These 2 teams have always had good contest and usually always had a beer after the game together as i think is great to see in the sport. As for the 2 behind the play incidents was a bit of a shame to see . I wouldn't be putting the high Wycombe players to blame . They were up all day and had control of the game . I don't think hitting one of the swans players out of the blue for no reason would of happened . I'm not saying it was in anyway appropriate but there was obviously a retaliation and the other guy has came out a lot worse off. Don't go pointing fingers at one club here . I think that both clubs need to speak to the players involved before people like u start opening ya mouth all
Over the net who wouldn't know a thing about the gAme . We play our great game we don't need this stuff on and off the field !!

Over and out ✌

Just a quick question when has it ever been appropriate for a umpire to push and shove players, water boys?

Umpires putting hands on players must be the new norm, heard this happened earlier in the year in a grade that has panel umpires and pretty much swept under the carpet by the sole investigator.

These type of incidents aren't a good look for the game but just wait until a player reacts and shoves an umpire back because he will make the news and probably get 10 years.

I agree there shouldn't be rules for umps and rules for players . It should be both the same . Either one can not touch each other or both get the Same penaltys not one rule for one and another rule for the other.

Cantbyagoal stop spreading unsubstantiated crap. You heard something "happened earlier in the year..." that says it all really

UMPIRES ARE NOT TO BE TOUCHED BY ANYONE PERIOD, COACHES AND PLAYERS CANT APPROACH THEM DURING A GAME TO SPEAK TO THEM, AND IF THEY GIVE YOU A DIRECTIVE YOU MUST DO WHAT THEY SAY WITHOUT QUESTIONING IT OR ARGUING IT.......

Those players had no right to get involved in what they did, and I'm sure if they were all honest they would admit they were told to get away and probably abused the umpire rather than walking away and defusing the situation by allowing the umpires to take control.

Major do you work for the waafl, by your comment something touched a nerv, unsubstantiated crap you say. I'm sure the witnesses from both club who saw it would have loved to put there version of what they saw happen but hey the investigation was stopped in its track without them being asked. Umpire free to keep on umpiring.

one of the problems on this occasion was that the incident happened between the 50 and wing right on the boundary line and the melee spilled over the boundary line.

should the umpires just let the spectators and water person get involved in the melee then and do nothing about it? We all know where that would end.

BTW, it was a great game of footy until then..
