Some big games coming up this weekend, season defining for a couple of teams.

Swan View vs Snesa - GOTR for mine as a spot in the 5 awaits the winner! The View have beaten everyone below them and now is the time to take a top 5 scalp. Lose here and will probably need to beat 2 top 5 teams on the way home to make finals. They haven't been overly convincing in winning but have been more than competitive in the losses. Snesa are also yet to have a top 5 scalp but are working into the season nicely. They will be aware that a win here will put them 4 points plus % clear. A lot will rest on the availability of some of The Views better players! If they play then it's a real 50/50 game. They don't and I think Snesa will get up.
Heart says View, head says Snesa. The View by a goal.

Eelenbrook vs Cockburn - The Eels are rolling along nicely and building towards what is likely to be another fruitless finals campaign. Having some of the best downhill skiers in the comp they will blow away a putrid Cockburn team. I saw the Warriors 2 weeks ago and they will be firmly entrenched in the relegation zone after Saturday!
Eelenbrook by 10+ goals

Manning vs Dianella - Manning have improved since the beginning of the year and are now competitive in most games they play. They aren't contenders but their improvement will see them avoid relegation and build a platform for what they will hope to be a more successful future. Still work to do with the ressies being very weak. Maybe if they steal a few more wallets at home games then they could buy a player or 3. Dianella are rolling along nicely and could be top of the ladder after this game. They have too much class for Manning and will get the job done.
Raiders by 6 goals.

Ballajura vs Piara Waters - Balla had a slip up a few weeks back against a fellow contender and I'm sure they'll be on thie mettle this time around. As I've said all along, they are the team to beat and if ever they are to get out of C3 then this is their time. I believe they are also the best prepared club for a rise in grade. Piara have taken the grade rise in their stride and although I wasn't overly impressed a few weeks back all you can do is win. It will be tougher again here but get a win and I'll rate them a bit higher. Don't think it will happen though. Will be a cracking game .
Balla by 2-3 goals

Swan Valley vs Secret Harbour - Extremely poor fixturing by the WAAFL here!!! Could have had all 3 grades playing yet the Valleys colts have a bye and Secrets colts are at Snesa while Snesa's league are at the View. Pathetic really and I imagine this will put huge stress on an already struggling club. Won't be surprised to see a forfeit somewhere, hopefully not! Secrets have had 2 weeks to prep fore this trek knowing they come up against another winless team so that should provide some incentive.
Anyway, the League game sees a chance for the Valley to secure their 1st win of the season and put some real pressure on Cockburn. In front of the tin shed they'll give the faithfull something to get excited about and when the floodgates open it will be party time.
Valley by 13 goals.

You beauty, back to the footy. While it was fun to have a break and rest up, its more fun playing footy and we look like having a fun weekend ahead. The weather should be good and there are a few good games for our grade

Swan View v SNEZA - Maddog this may be match of the round to you if your umpiring for Swan View but I think this one will be all one sided......SNEZA are a good group, they are well coached and they play a solid game plan. I note the inclusion of Michael Florio to their list. That boy can play, was a regular at Perth over the past few years and was being looked at by AFL clubs only a couple of years ago. SNEZA will win easily to stay in touch with the top 4 and start to put a gap on the bottom five

Ellenbrook v Cockburn Lakes - Ellenbrook were good when we played them before the bye, but struggled a bit when put under genuine pressure, I felt their skills dropped away and they failed to kick a goal in the last quarter. On the other hand Cockburn lakes are really struggling, and even if they were to start now they would struggle to win. Knowing their luck they would kick a point and have no one to put the ball back into play. Ellenbrook to bounce back from last week and win well.

Manning v Dianella Morley - manning are another side that is improving each week. Clearly their new coach has bought a game plan and style that they all agree works as they have bought in. That said Dianella Morley is rolling along on top of the ladder and I don't see them loosing this one, especially if their key forwards are getting enough of the ball. Dianella Morley easily

Ballajura v Piara Waters - First v Third with only percentage separating bot sides. Clearly this is match of the round based purely on where sides sit on the ladder. One expects this to be a fast physical contest, both sides have the ability to score a lot of goals, and both sides play a brand of football that makes it hard to be scored against. Ballajura have a clear home ground advantage with their small oval, but ill still back the boys from Piara to win in a tight game - would not be surprised to see this result in single figures either way.

Swan Valley v Secret Harbour - a lot riding on this game for both clubs, win and they can stay close enough to Cockburn to make the second round interesting in regards to relegation, loose and its going to be a long season before playing C4 next year. Swan valley are better then their current results show and I expect them to win this one easily. Hopefully Secret Harbour gets two sides on the park.

Good luck to everyone and enjoy the footy, to the winners, frothys will flow freely, to the losers, keep working, this is a game and someone has to come second - unless you have a draw
