Uni beating West Coast by such a big margin (11 goals) was a surprise. Whilst North Freo had a crack, the big wins by Kelmscott, Wesley and TA's suggest that it will be virtually impossible for the other 4 sides to have any chance of qualifying for the finals. For the other sides staying in A Grade will now be the focus.

A Grade Results
Trinity Aquinas 15.12 (102)
North Beach 5.5(35)

North Fremantle 8.7 (55)
C.B.C. 11.13 (79)

Wesley Curtin 20.9 (129)
Kalamunda 11.6 (72)

Mt Lawley 8.4 (52)
Kelmscott 13.16 (94)

West Coast 7.4 (46)
University 17.11 (113)

A Reserves Results
Trinity Aquinas 7.10 (52)
North Beach 3.11 (29)

North Fremantle 5.5 (35)
C.B.C. 9.11 (65)

Wesley Curtin 9.4 (58)
Kalamunda 6.9 (45)

Mt Lawley 16.17 (113)
Kelmscott 3.4 (22)

West Coast 8.3 (51)
University 6.13 (49)

Caz, what about the mount lawley v Kelmy game? How did that pan out.. You have seen most of the lower sides in the comp now - what's your take on the hawks and who would be the clubs most in trouble going down... Judging by score/scoring shots you guys should have won by more! Your game v uni should be a cracker, might venture down to Dunn to watch that one

Lawley weren't to bad, still in my opinion one of the team's to be relegated but they do have alot of depth with reserves being just as strong as league, not as bad as the scores have shown over this year

Mt Lawley do indeed have a lot of depth S Train in both their colts (most being in their last year of colts) and their ressies. In fact I would like to know why there were several ressies players (at least 4or 5) who werent in the league side? Not only would they have done well one or two of them would have got BOG. I was told after the game two WAFL players also played ressies after getting a pass out from the WAFL bye this wknd. Seems a bit strange. Mt Lawley and Kalamunda will probs go down however I think ML will come straight back up with their colts boys pushing up into the ressies and league teams to strengthen them.
Yes the boys have kicked like that for years if you look at our past games Frase however theyve still managed to win all the right games even if they should have won by a lot more. I look forward to you coming to the Dunn and will even buy you a drink as long as its either before or after the league game.

Thanks Caz! Look forward to it.
Would be good to hear from the Lawley boys- potentially the mayor on why ressie players weren't playing league with the potential Caz/strain are talking about. Yeah, there colts gave us a touch up earlier in the year and are well coached, but talking to the coaches then, they said most of their colts were only one year out of juniors, hence another 2 or so years still able to play colts. So don't see this helping out there Side coming out of the B grade.
Been looking at there side each week and not the players in there who have done so the last 2-3 years. I reckon six to eight of there league boys out from then and none of their recruits this year - Headland & Casserly the last few weeks.. Is there an issue with them and coaches/committee as I see the coach now seems to be okay in the last couple. 0-7 for them and Kala - the game after the break the most important one of the year for these 2 sides. Loser most definitely will be going down to B grade, but the winner will still have to pull a rabbit (or three) out of the hat to also avoid B grade.. Gonna miss the pool tables at both clubs and the great social areas from these two sides - some of the best club rooms in the A grade and canteen/bar facilities.

Admittedly Frase I wasnt sure on the colts ages but overheard one of their supporters talking about it at the bar but they too sounded like they were guessing. I also assumed it to be true at the sheer size of them, the facial hair and the way they carried themselves on the footy field. Talking about their clubrooms our kids loved the set up in there. Pool, pingpong, foosball and also mini basketball set up was fantastic. Just a shame you couldnt watch the game and the kids (I have a two yr old who cant stand still) but I took notes for our own club. I also enjoyed the breeze at the outside bar but not sure Id like it if it was raining lol and their bar prices were reasonable too.

Lol.. Yeah they have nice club rooms, for memory these were redone 2 years ago for their 5oth celebrations - bar looks nice, downlights, bar stonework and framed jumpers. The games are great for the little tackers - don't remember the mini basketball but the Hawk Burger is one of the best in the league! Patty, salad, bacon, egg, cheese, fried onion and beetroot :)
Been at a few of those games when the rain comes in and yes, you're right - not a good place in the wet, but the bar is then set up inside and people crammed under the covered area. The oval turns into one of those found in the Victorian suburban league - a mud pile, so you should be lucky u missed that... But the showers in the away change rooms are generally hot and the beer is always cold & cheap!
Wished other clubs & canteens like this - eg.Uni - $6 rolls for a slice of ham, cheese and tomato in a bun and cold curry.
Heard TAs have upped the ante this year according to the umps, and the canteen and conti rolls are gourmet. Good burgers & chips down Ray Owen. Wesley curtin awesome butcher patties and burgers- $2 a pop for the patties can't go wrong and the Pink lady day is great for the comp and awareness on breast cancer. West coast need to improve on their pies and sausage rolls, north freo great schnitzel burgers and rolls and maybe the beach need to up the ante.. But a few excuses for them last year as were away from home and Charles Riley so looking forward to the new upgrade!
Can't wait to get down John Dunn and experience the Sunday league ovals and feel- hope the prices and canteen are good! Any tips on what's the best feed and drink combo down Kelmy way?
