Are you referring to the bench that was set up by WCC for the opposition?

It's nearly as average as clubs not handing out free beer vouchers at the end of the game for the opposition, or something of the equivalent.

I deleted that comment as it is not the kind of thing we stand for as a club. Will be taking it up with the chap involved to ensure he understand expectations too.
What we do stand for, though, is the ability to have a laugh with our mates, enjoy good clean games of footy, and uphold sportsmanship. I can assure you that the picture was intended as a joke and it seems the vast majority of people took it that way. I can also assure you that we approached our opponents well before bouncedown in the first game on Saturday and offered them one of our own marquees as protection from the elements. At first they declined, but when I offered it to their President again shortly after he gratefully accepted. I personally helped them set it up and we enjoyed a really good day of local footy together.
As Caz said on our FB post the score tells the story of what happened on-field. Uni got us in the League and Colts, but we were proud of our Reserves (along with our Thirds, who played Osborne Park away) who had a win. What also tells the story is that players from both sides were able to enjoy a drink together that evening, as we watched our young fellas play their first game under lights. That is what community sport is all about.
Cheers,
Sam Birmingham - President

Offered the opposition a marquee, is it different in A Grade. Cause in every other grade i thought it is just expected when you turn up as the opposition team their is a marquee set up for you.

I think that was the response that was expected Sam and youre not alone in your bench set up as most other A gradeclubs (and others) have a very similar set up with no offer of cover. MM no free beer? That's just not on at all.

Mt Lawley V Kelmy no Marquee and very hot on Saturday too (mostly) however both Freo CBC and TA's were the same. I must admit I am surprised everytime I see it.

If the Bulldog burger is back by then (new canteen staff) then I'd def have one of them and our drink prices are a little high if you ask me. John Dunn has by far the best club rooms in the comp. We have a ping pong table, darts and a pool table however after seeing the set up at Mt Lawley I may make a couple more suggestions for some other things.

16.4 Playing area and equipment The home team for each fixtured match is responsible for having the playing surface correctly and visibly marked (including interchange, coaches box and spectator line) goal post pads and a stretcher available on the boundary. Both teams are required to use white goal flags. Failure to do so will incur a fine as prescribed in Schedule 1.

This may help anyone who has a query on whether a coaches box should be supplied
