Sorry footylad, that is the dumbest thing I have read in some time. The only reason you would play someone under a false name is either:
A) the said player isn't registered at the club and the club wants to play him or
the said player is suspended under his own name and still the club wants him to play.

Players will know if they are registered properly, they all had to do that on line agreeing to the terms and conditions of playing before they started representing the club this season. There is no way you can feel sorry for the players, they are party to this scam. They had the option to say I cant play I'm not registered, and have still taken the field.

That under any definition is not following the rules, or when we were younger that was called cheating.....Not sure if you can call it that now in the days of political correctness

I believe he means the other (honest) players at the club, given the potential for a club-wide punishment.

I felt sorry for the "honest" players in the club for about a minute then thought unless they are walking around with their eyes closed they know exactly what is going on ..... so fuckem!

This is now not about whether Noranda cheated...they did.
or about if the WAAFL have enough proof....they do

This is about whether the WAAFL have the willingness or ability to act quickly and decisively to protect our game.

The bylaws clearly state the punishment for a club playing unregisterd players...The club has to be penalised...and quickly...so others dont feel they can do the same.

The coach or coaches concerned also need to be individually punished....they are not fit to be custodians of our game and should have their coaching accreditation removed.

The blokes who played or had their names used shoud receive an automatic 2 week suspension .....that probably wont bother the cheats who are probably on their way back up to where they came from after the country week bye....but the bloke who had his name used might be a bit pissed off....you would think that will only happen once.

The WAAFL have had this issue now for some time and are following the steps needed.

Noranda have had Photos of players in both C2 and E2 taken and given to the WAAFL, not all players would be involved, But players from this Club named and did not play are attempting to cover it up with the WAAFL. ( that is me im just bigger and lost all my tats) just 1 quote.

This should all be over in the next week or 2 just how much the Noranda club will pay is now the question.

But the e2 waafl F&B this year should be A Farr 12 games in e2, 1 game in C2 and best on ground by a mile.

Getting the Tats off was a good trick Aaron but getting 6" taller in a week well done.

Players don't check the team sheet before a game to make sure that their names are on it/not on it. You hear your name read out at selections and you would automatically assume that they've put you on the list. At the end of the day, guys rock up on game day to play a game of footy.

All the paperwork is handled by the manager or club so you cant go blaming the players if they actually have no idea. Do you check before every game to make sure that everyone on the list is there and is registered? As a player, I highly doubt you do...

If your name is read out at selections then SURELY you must be registered by that club to be considered for a game with them. So what your saying above is the people running your club knew guys were not registered and your coaches still selected them? Like my original post in the old days that was called cheating no matter how you try to pretty it up.

You ask any player regardless of them currently playing or not and they will be able to tell you who they last played for, and who they are currently cleared too.so if a player takes the field knowing he has never played there, he is also cheating. there is no other way you can put that mate, sorry

Well, this seems to have taken some of the heat off the Mosman Park umpire !

Someone at that club who is in charge has made a decision on more than one occasion to play unregistered players.

Now that person is either the Coach, who was selected by the committee, or the president/registrar, who is usually elected by the members.

When you win a position of trust, you are trusted to do the right things, if you choose to do the wrong things then the actions you take have an impact on everyone. If this club gets fined and relegated, then yes this effects all players.

Footy Lad, there wont be individual punishments for the guys that did the right thing, however they will be punished because their club might be relegated or made to miss finals this year, that is a punishment that will effect everyone.

cant shy away from that fact, everyone will get caught up in the punishment, weather they like it or not
