The three forfeits is a worry, especially for teams going into finals who may find themselves down on match fitness.

CWP (IDC) 0.0-0 0.0-0 10.6-66
Thornlie (IDC) 0.0-0 0.0-0 5.11-41

Kingsway (IDC) 0.0-0 0.0-0 9.15-69
Wanneroo (IDC) 0.0-0 0.0-0 3.5-23

O/R Kingsley and Gosnells all wins by forfeit.

Well Well Well, what a game I chose to watch on saturday morning!
No words can describe what must have been going through Wanneroos Heads... did they just want to give away their chances of a top spot finish? Absalutely the worst first half of footy I've ever watched by one team,

Going into the game I would have expected a close one, Wanneroo missing their two Co-Captains and best on field leaders, as well as their Best & Fairest winner from 2012. However I still expected a fight atleast from the players, or interest in the footy. Watching from the sides the game seemed to be played between 22 Kingsway players and 3 maybe 4 Wanneroo players. All 22 Kingsway players (19 of which have terrible tattoos) played very good footy, and looking very sharp coming into the final weeks before finals!

For now the Ladder sits,
Kingsley 52
Kingsway 48
Wanneroo 44
Ocean Ridge 40
Thronlie 40

Only real notable games in the next three weeks are as followed with previous scores and my prediction on the games

Round 17 Kingsway v Ocean Ridge
Kingsway (IDC) 0.0-0 0.0-0 8.12-60
Ocean Ridge (IDC) 0.0-0 0.0-0 4.13-37

Ocean Ridge's only game in the final month leading into finals, inaccurate kicking went around last time they met, I have the feeling if Ocean Ridge's fowards kick straight on the day, they will get over the line by a couple of points in a cracker of a game!

Round 17 Kingsley v Thornlie
Thornlie (IDC) 0.0-0 0.0-0 11.5-71
Kingsley (IDC) 0.0-0 0.0-0 12.4-76

Thornlie dropping a few games they would have been expected to win in the previous few weeks will come back to bite them in the early weeks of the finals, likely to miss the double chance, however is still a possibility, A win here for kingsley should see them seal top spot, however I am predicting an upset and see Thornlies hunger for the footy come out on top and take a cheeky win over the team to beat by a couple of goals!

Round 18 Wanneroo v Kingsley
Kingsley (IDC) 0.0-0 0.0-0 9.13-67
Wanneroo (IDC) 0.0-0 0.0-0 6.4-40

A loss in this game (or any game in these 3 weeks) can see wanneroo lose their second chance, however from the looks of things Wanneroo will have all players on the track this week and will finally be looking at cementing their best 22 coming into the tough end, minus one season ended injury. Kingsley coming into this game i have no doubt will be sore from the previous week against Thornlie, could Kingsley drop their last two games of the home and away season and drop off top spot? whichever way this game goes I can only see it been decided by under a goal in a low scoring hard fought game

Went along to the ocean ridge vs kingsway game as a neutral supporter and was a pretty scrappy affair all day with a cross wind and rain throughout the game affecting it in parts. Kingsway started well kicking 3 goals to 1 in the 1st quarter and pretty much held the same 2 goal advantage until 1/2 way through the final qtr when ocean ridge hit the front after 2 quick goals but to kingsway's credit they didn't panic and steadied with the last 5 scoring shots to run out 13 point winners with the last 10 minutes of the game pretty much played in kingsway's forward half.

There was certainly a lot of feeling in the game with numerous spot fires around the ground all day which i believe was poorly handled by the umpires as they appeared to allow it to happen rather than deal with it at the time. Kingsway appeared to ignore the fighting in the last qtr ( as opposed to ocean ridge who wanted to go on with it) which set up their win.

Both these sides will make there presence felt come finals time although kingsway secured the double chance by winning and ocean ridge will have to come via the elimination final which will make it tough.

Having seen all the top 5 sides play in the last few weeks I believe that kingsway are peaking at the right time and Will be awfully hard to beat from either Kingsley or wanneroo ( who play each other this week so we should get a good guide) although. See that Kingsley only just beat Thornlie on the weekend by 3 points.

A great finals series coming up!

Hey guys,

Been following this comp with a keen eye throughout the season. Keen to get your tips on the upcoming finals series and who you think is in the box seat to take home the flag..

On the final round:
Only one notable game, which can affect the ladder, being Wanneroo vs Kingsley. It looks as though Wanneroo might be hitting a purple patch of form, but it's hard to judge as they have only played two average teams in CWP and Gosnells. Kingsley also struggled to get over the line against Thornlie on the weekend, setting up for a cracker end to the season. Wanneroo claim to have the best backline in the competition (haha), and this week they will certainly have their hands full, up against this competitions best offensive unit.
With this in mind, I think Wanneroo are really up and about and will take home the 4 points.

Finals:
Taking that into account, it is quite likely that Kingsway could steal top spot on the ladder, setting up for a Wanneroo vs Kingsley rematch the following week. Where I think Kingsley will hit back hard and give Wanneroo their first loss of what I believe will be consecutive losses, bombing out in straight sets.

Top 2 teams to face off in the grand final, where I think Kingsway will be too strong and claim the flag.

Thoughts?

1 Kingsley (IDC) 15W 2L 232.36% 60
2 Kingsway (IDC) 14W 3L 214.33% 56
3 Wanneroo (IDC) 13W 4L 211.09% 52
4 Thornlie (IDC) 12W 5L 175.21% 48
5 O/Ridge (IDC) 11W 6L 212.10% 44

Firstly starting off the the games just gone, all top 5 teams in action before the Thornlie and Ocean Ridge getting the week off before finals.

Unfortunatly I only got to see the third quarter between Kingsley & Thornlie over the weekend, and it was great to see Thornlie come from 5 goals down at half time to put up the fight they did, would have loved to see them get over the line, but unfortunatly this didnt happen.

O/R pushed hard against Kingsway however it was always going to be tough, expecially with the 8 kicks it takes to go from goal to goal down at heathridge, and how well Kingsway protect the air ball.

Wanneroo seemed to for the second week in a row cruise comfortably to a win against a bottom 5 team, after playing what seems to be 8 strong quarters in a row, will be interesting to see how next weeks game against Kingsley plays out!

Into next weeks games!

Kingsway v CWP

CWP (IDC) 0.0 0.0 0.0 3.4-22
Kingsway (IDC) 0.0 0.0 0.0 15.11-101

Kingsway will be hoping here to string a solid 4 quarters together, before finals, should be done easy enough however CWP with nothing to play for could come out with a surprise, or do the dirty and throw fists... lets hope not!

Kingsway by 12 Goals

Wanneroo v Kingsley

Kingsley (IDC) 0.0 0.0 0.0 9.13-67
Wanneroo (IDC) 0.0 0.0 0.0 6.4-40

Match of the round, ( yes out of the two games been played!). The game will be played at 12.35 due the a night game occuring between the league teams. Could be interesting for the colts players not playing this weekend to come watch! I will certainly be down there for this game rain hail or shine!

Watching this game earlier in the year Wanneroo seemed to have struggled, however with 4 of their top players (3 midfielders) out is understandable. Kingsley coming out of a hard played win on the weekend just gone could come into this game a little sore, however im sure will be shook off in the first minute. For Wanneroo to get on top in this game they need to come out firing and take control in the early minutes with a quick goal or two. I stand by my previous statement saying this game will be decided by under a goal. However will fall Wanneroo's way.

If Wanneroo win. It will see Kingsway steal top spot by percentage. My ladder + Finals prediciton if as followed.

2 Kingsway (IDC) 15W 3L 60
1 Kingsley (IDC) 15W 3L 60
3 Wanneroo (IDC) 14W 4L 56
4 Thornlie (IDC) 13W 5L 52
5 O/Ridge (IDC) 12W 6L 48

Kingsway - Week Off
Kingsley v Wanneroo - Wanneroo Win
Thornlie v O/Ridge - O/Ridge Win

Kingsway v Wanneroo - Kingsway Win
Kingsley v O/Ridge - O/Ridge Win

Wanneroo v O/Ridge - Wanneroo Win

Kingsway v Wanneroo GF

Get around it!

Also, can anyone shed light as to why CWP score was scrapped in their win over Thornlie?

Im guessing kingsley to win this week over Roos,

W1
Kingsley - Week Off
Kingsway v Roos - Roos by 10 pts
Thornlie v O/Ridge - O/Ridge by 30 pts

W2
Kingsley v Roos - Kingsley by 15 pts
Kingsway v O/Ridge - Kingsway by 35pts

W3
Roos v Kingswaye - Roos Win by 5pts

Kingsway v Wanneroo GF.... I cant pick it but under a goal

Will be a great finals series, look forward to all top 3 teams playing eachother which will be 5 times including this weekend!

Whynot- believe CWP score was wiped because of an unregisted player.
