So is there now 3 "byes" in this comp?
Melville - gone
Kelmscott - gone
Lynwood Ferndale - forfeited?

Not good for the comp if this is the case.

You have to feel for the teams in the Top 5 that will have byes in the next 4 weeks before finals, such as Kinglsey with two byes and Ocean Ridge with 3 (just off the top of my head). Hardly an ideal preparation before (what is hopefully a good) finals series.

So what happens now with the 3 wins for Ocean Ridge at 90 to 1 point. Percentage may take them up the ladder as well and they have all byes?

How about they take all the games from Melville colts for the year and wipe them.

Take all the 2nd round games from Kelmscott and Lynwood and make them all 90 to 1 wins for everyone.

Then we have a fair indicator of percentage etc for all at the end of the last round.

Or just wipe all 3 teams for the year from the records?

Thoughts?
Knight Footy is the winner!

Disco Knight, I love your thoughts, however the likelyhood of the WAAFL agreeing and making it happen I can't see likely,

However on the note, I have noticed on the ladder updated today both Games Wanneroo V Lynwood and CWP v Kelmscott have been updated in the forfeight collum, something that has not happened all year, be interesting to see where the melville game goes when updated. Putting these games into that collum means no percentage change, just points... should all games go this way? would be nice to see that happen.

As for the top 5 teams, they have the following in store for the final rounds

Kingsley (Melville, Kelmscott, Kingsley, Wanneroo) 2 Byes
Kingsway (Wanneroo, Lynwood, Ocean Ridge, CWP) 1 Bye
Wanneroo (Kingsway, CWP, Gosnells, Kingsley) 0 Byes
Thornlie (CWP, Gosnells, Kingsley. Melville) 1 Bye
Ocean Ridge (Lynwood, Melville, Kingsway, Kelmscott) 3 Byes

Wanneroo looking at having the most gametime coming into finals series, the question is whether its going to turn out helpful and not. Kingsway could be on the same depending if the Lynwood bye was a once off or not.

Round 17 looking to be the round that shapes the top 5 at last, however round 18 could see a change in top spot if all things fall Wanneroo's way! 4 wins in a row to finish off the year could see Wanneroo steal top spot after losses to both Kingsley and Kingsway on the weekend

On that note, any writeups from this weekends game? would love to know what happened to Kingsley and Kingsway, rumours are players out? but to a champion team a few changes shouldnt cause that?

Whynot - not sure about Kingsley but i know that Kingsway were missing 8 players who would be in there starting 18 against Thornlie with some overseas and some out through illness who should all return this week making them pretty much full strength. Good game against Thornlie with Kingsway leading by 15 points at 3/4 time but just ran out legs in the midfield in the last qtr ( 3 of the 8 missing are mids) although full credit to Thornlie who play there ground well especilally with the wind blowing across the ground. It's funny that 2 of Kingsway's 3 losses this year have been to Thornlie and both times they had a fair chunk of their best side missing (rd 5 was groovin the moo when they had 18 out!!) and last weekend.

Having said that this week Kingsway should field there strongest side all year so they will get a good indication of where they are at

The hoodoos are playing apart this year from the looks of things,

as you mention Leggo33, Kingsway have lost both games now to thornlie
Ocean ridge and beaten thornlie in both games,
Wanneroo have beaten Ocean Ridge in both games,
Ocean ridge with 1 and piece against kingsley, only lost by 2 goals first time round,
Wanneroo and thornlie share it 1 and a piece also forming a large well resepctful rivalry over the past two years (3 wins each), its a shame that one wont continue with Thornlie looking to be C2 and Wanneroo if all goes well into B.

How much these play into finals could be extremely interesting!

Whynot i believe that the Flag is up for grabs for anyone within the top 5. A month ago Kingsley seemed invincible yet have since lost to both Kingsway & Ocean Ridge. Kingsway beat both Ocean Ridge and Wanneroo the 1st time round and with the 2nd round games to come in the next few weeks it will give each of those sides a good idea as to where they stand. Getting to the sharp end now and will be interesting to watch. I also see Ocean ridge had the game taken off them against Gosnells from a few weeks ago (they actually won the game by 100+ points) so that may hurt their double chance prospects come finals time. Also possibly only playing 1 game in the last month cant be good leading into a finals series regardless of where you finish on the ladder

you are correct Leggo, This weekend will surely be a cracker! as Ive seen your post on the C1 page, all three games looks asthough they could go either way, would be nice to see Kingsway League get over Wanneroo. I also have the feeling whoever wins the colts game could steal top spot of kingsley before the end of the year! Cant wait to see the results!!

Brings me to a question, Leggo33, are you a colts player? or something other?

no mate just a follower of the C1 colts teams North of the River. 4 0f the top 5 teams are all within a 10 km radius of each other so try and get around to see as many as i can.

Ridge v Kingsley.
Was a big game for both clubs on the weekend with ridge taking 3 wins on the day. Ridge got off to a flyer kicking 7 goals to 1 in the first and pretty much dominated the play for the first half. 2nd half was pretty much a stale mate with both teams kicking pretty much equal scores. Spoke to kingsleys runner after the game and he mentioned a few colts were out and a couple are playing up. I think most clubs would be in the same position this time of the year I know we still have players to come back I to our side and upto 6 playing league regularly. In regards to the possibility of 3 byes leading upto the finals it's not ideal to have only one game in a month but have confidence in the boys to hold there own. Should be a good last 4 games in the comp and a even better finals series with all teams able to win on their day.
