Kelmscott (C1) 0.0 0.0 0.0 15.10 (100)

Some interesting results. I expected Melville to toy with Thorlie which they certainly did. Wanneroo had a huge fright from Kingsley, I am looking forward to the write up from the "mysterious"one. How were the chips?? Gossie comfortably over Lynwood which was probably expected.

Ocean Ridge continue to make a surge of sorts but narrowly went down to Kelmscott. Would have been good attacking footy judging by the score. CWP pulled off the the upset of the round beating Kingsway. A few people didnt tip CWP but said they wouldn't be supprised if they one but I could not tip them going on form. (loses to Thornlie and Lynwood) Any thoughts/reports??

Well it was an interesting day down at Kingsley. It was a cold and damp day but the atmosphere around the venue was good. Kingsley used something on Saturday which I think our league players could have shown more of and that was effort.

Colts game was a good close contest. Not sure why the players from Kingsley choose not to play League, especially when they are mostly 20 year olds. They were to good on the weekend.
Kingsley won by 3 goals.

I ventured to the canteen, and I did notice the hot chips, so I thought I'd try some. They really weren't up to scratch to be honest. I had to go to chicken treat just to get some. Which is only 500 metres away, (closer than the canteen is at Onion Ridge though)

The reserves game was merely a walk in the park, didn't notice anything exciting in this game. Wanneroo by 100 points

The league game was not what I was expecting, I'm sure I'm not the only one who though that this would be a walk in the park for Wanneroo. To Kingsley's credit though they were hard at the ball all day and the crowd was vocal and probably helped them kick several goals. Wanneroo weren't the best either. Missing easy goals, dropping easy marks, and not wanting the ball enough. It was the worst performance I have seen from them this season. Still they remain undefeated.
Wanneroo won by 4 points

Now that we are half way through the season I thought I'd have a go at what I think the ladder will look like after round18.

Kelmscott 16-2
Wanneroo 16-2
Kingsway 13-5
Gosnells 12-6
Melville 11-7
Lynwood 10-8
CWP 8-10
Ocean Ridge 7-11
Thornlie 3-15
Kingsley 2-16

Disagree with me? Feel free to let me know. I look forward to travelling down to Melville this weekend, as I hear it's ladies day! I'll brush off my finest Armani suit

Who do you think Wanneroo will drop 2 games to in the second half of the season? (Not saying that they wont drop 2 or more, just like to get your thoughts on when).

They play Kelmscott at home.....obviously is definately still a threat.....Gosnells away, which will probably result in a few broken jaws no doubt. Kingsway at home.

Would love to disagree with you, but I am prediciting same top 5. Although would love to see Ridge find form in the second half and take Melvilles spot.

Well well well what an interesting game of footy Santa watched on the weekend. Going in I was expecting a blow out but was I wrong! Hoping to find this Mr Mysterious bloke I didn't have the time as I was to focused on the game and watching the massive out siders in Kingsley fight for the win.
The day was cold yes but Santa lives in snow so no problems there for him and still got to watch a pretty exciting game in the end. Very nervous end to the game for wanneroo as number 13 almost lost it for them. 4 points up with bout 30 seconds left the wanneroo boys were kicking the ball around defense to take time off the clock but number 13 played on from marking the footy and was pinned holding the ball on kingsleys 50m line. The kick went in deep and wanneroo defense were able to stop it and the siren blew. Got away with a close one the Roos did.

To your ladder Mr Mysterious I think wanneroo will remain on top though. The next time they play kelmscott will determine whether they stay undefeated or not.

Soprano I think 4 games are possible for Wanneroo losing. Melville this coming weekend, Kelmscott the week after. Kingsway and Gosnells. I think they would be lucky to win all 4 so I just split it 2-2. Kelmscott finish above Wanneroo because they have a better percentage.

Melville at their deck next week will be a tough one. Also Kelmscott, I definately agree with you. Kingsway in the second half of the year are usually woeful, so might not drop that game. Gosnells were a good side, playing them away will also be tough.

Thank you for your prompt reply. Appreciate it.

BTW that very young boundary umpire did an awesome job in such a tight game....had a couple of very close calls and i reckon nailed them. Also, someone of his size was able to throw the ball in from the bounday excellent and a lot better than a few older fellas. Well done son, keep it up....you are going places!!

Anything can happen in football but time will tell.
I did notice the small boundary umpire, good work from him.

The small boundary umpire was quite good actually
Don't think Melville can beat us this week because they have proven over the last few games against us that they struggle. I think kelmscott at our home ground will be a great game and we will be able to tell how both teams are travelling in the second half of the season

Kingsley V Wanneroo... wow,

Wanneroo should lower their heads after the effort they displayed and I think Kingsley should walk away feeling like they won, which they should have.

To the bloke who got the freekick for holding the ball with a matter of seconds on the clock, if you ready this, please answer, why didnt you take the shot? you were 45m out, did you not back yourself? can you not kick that far?

In regards to the boundary umpire spoke of, possibly better then any other boundary umpire I've seen whislt involved in amateur footy. not only was he keeping up with play, his throws were better then any I've come across!

Mr Mysterious in regards to your ladder, I believe if kingsley take their confidence from the last 2 games played into the incoming weeks, I believe they could skip religation, Ocean Ridge are looking well below where they should, and if they dont pick up soon I cant imagine them winning many games in the coming weeks! Same goes with CWP and Lynwood, They just dont run with the top 5 teams.

One of the more ridiculous things I've read, only the team with 4 points should ever feel like they've won. Its a mediocre attitude to think otherwise. If a team "should have won" but didnt then the performance is no good isnt it? Kingsley have a long road to avoid relegation, it wont happen IMO
The best offense is a good defense
