I watched first placed C1 Baldivis play second placed Melville today and smash them by 13 goals. Can anyone tell me why Souths 2020 premiership player Steven Verrier is suiting up for Baldivis when he could be getting $1000 a game in the country? Same goes for the likes of Branchi and a couple of others. Surely they're having a laugh at amateur status at the rest of the comps expense.

BC,
Not to cast dispersions on any specific  club because as we learnt it's easy to make accusations.
I can say it's a joke... through personal experience with the club I'm involved in that they target the weakest.

We we're a C4 club on top of the ladder and a accusation was made that we we're paying a player.
To keep short and relevant I will stick to basic fact (happy to share more detailed info when required by PM)

Anyway, we were 'offered' a two game loss of premiership points to 'resolve' the matter.
As we were top of ladder we could have easily accommodated such a punishment HAD WE DONE THE CRIME of offering travel money...we said NO, why?
Quite simply we had not done it!

The rest is history...they bully the little clubs as they have limited recourses both financially and in most cases with connections.

Had the club had the financial capacity it would have progressed to the public court system.
We did not...as it was it almost destroyed us.

It gutted us, the system is flawed but there is no real 'will' to address it.

Didn't said player do you blokes in?

Usually there's smoke/fire, actual proof of any wrong doing usually is almost impossible to get

Benny,
Yes 'Said' player (Witness X) did DO US IN!
That's exactly why we wanted to get to public court system...so as Witness X would have to testify in a court of Law.

Having had  bit of country football management experience any 4-5 point player can get $600-800 per game in virtually any country league in WA and if you are prepared to go to Kalgoolie you can double that.
It is common practice for country teams to bring in and move on paid players prior to June 30 depending on how the season is going so they only pay for 1/2 the season which is good management which ever way you play it.
So lets look at Bladivis who have 3 x 4-5 point players. Verrier from Sth Freo was a very good WAFL player who has been there all yr (is he coaching?) & Boullineau also a very good WAFL player who arrived a couple of weeks before 30th June from Peel but was a Baldivis junior so benefit of the doubt there. The one that really smells is Blaine Johnson who in 2018, amidst a heap of fan fair and was headlines in the local newspapers, left Sth Freo mid season to join Baldivis when they were in the Peel league and top of the ladder. He was openly being paid then and as Peel is it a semi pro league no issue .He then moves to Kambalda for substantially more money but Kamalada are terrible this yr so surprise surprise just before the 30th June he returns to Baldivis!  Baldivis were paying substantial money for players in the Peel league (including a large contingent from West Perth for many yrs)so why would the Ammo's think this would just stop because they changed leagues?

Some very good questions there FN and given Johnson kicked 11 goals against second placed Melville a couple of weeks ago I'm sure they'd like some answers too.

Unfortunately Not going to happen BC. C1/B is too high a grade and would bring attention to "A" grade's murky dealings!
More likely to see a small club in the lower grades again being targeted to make it look like they are trying to clamp down when we know they are not.
They will never stamp it out while the members of so called "Integrity Unit" have allegiances to PFL clubs.Never going to bust their own club!

What about North Beach . Nic Ried was playing for the Eagles last year . He would of got around $150 grand for the season now playing for nothing.
They also have at least 15-20 players with recent WAFL experience who would get big dollars in the Bush.
