mate...I was with my two young blokes and we caught the 111 bus up Canning Highway from near Legends Bar in Attadale...got off at the Busport where they had shuttles running direct to the ground every couple of minutes.....easy peasy. Coming home we got the 659 events bus back down Canning Highway and got off at the same place and was home within 30 minutes...brilliant !!!

30 minutes that’s bloody good.

I was usually the same coming home from a Freo game at Subiaco. If it’s the same or even quicker than that I’m happy.

Credit where credit is due thank you must be extended to Colin Barnett for finally delivering this state into the 21st century with a brand new stadium in a beautiful riverside location instead of yet another half arsed rebuild at Subi and or the WACA.

Further more to my original post on this topic it is not just the Stadium itself that is incredible and the amenities inside but the whole precinct, parkland, river, lake surrounds are magnificent, the public transport areas, and when the bridge is finally built, the new Camfield pub is finished and we put a ferry terminal close by this will be the best thing we have ever built in Perth.
Thank god Barnett had the foresight to see the big picture rather than the third rate offer initially put forward at the same old boring Subi location.

Yep agree fully, its a piece of infrastructure that will change the city for decades to come.

Every day I go past that heap at Subi and think , thank god they never got sucked into the BS of a rebuild in that stupid location, its totally inferior and we would still be putting the lights out by 10pm...lol

Have to agree with you Beasley. "It is not just the Stadium itself that is incredible and the amenities inside but the whole precinct, parkland, river, lake surrounds are magnificent, the public transport areas, and when the bridge is finally built, the new Camfield pub"

Despite all the negativity about the precinct and PARKING I drove over yesterday and was blown away, by everything, it is absolutely fantastic. Had no problem getting a park, despite probably being 1000 patrons in the pub. There are about 500 bays available on non event day's in total I'd reckon. When the bridge is finished it will be an easy walk from East Perth!

The biggest bonus for me was the Camfield Pub. It is without doubt the best Pub I have ever been into. The size of it is just amazing, with a massive in house brewery, great food and drink offerings and there are areas inside & outside for everybody. It can easily fit 2000 plus patrons seated.

Whoever designed it should be congratulated because we the Footy Public finally have somewhere nice to enjoy a pregame FULL STRENGTH beer and meal (for a few hours) and a post game celebration.

Little touches for the family and kids, numerous TX screens and a massive TV screen in the rear beer garden to watch the games if you are unlucky enough not to get into the stadium.

As you say, "Thank god Barnett had the foresight to see the big picture rather than the third rate offer initially put forward at the same old boring Subi location"

Yes I did thanks Swan, thanks for asking!. I always practice responsible drinking. The plus for me was that it was free and the ice was an unexpected bonus.
