Think the foot bridge should be completed in May?

Yeah, its on track I think, its been a shambles, I think like a lot of things that have been done here, designs have been very over complex, Perth Arena was another one, and Yagan Square f you look at that is another example, all we needed for a foortbridge was a simple attractive serviceable design that could move as many people as possible , built at a low cost and quickly constructed design, its a footbridge not the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Amazing to hear that the Stadium Chief Operating Officer was sacked the day after the ODI due to a "restructure". Nothing to do with the beer running out, poor food and the streaker apparently.

Perth's public transport system cannot handle crowds. Everyone panics and they offer patrons last minute incentives to get their early. If it's not transport, it's catering. There's always issues.
All well and good with the new stadium but in my opinion, they built it in the wrong location.
They put me off. I'm in no hurry to go see it.

Yeah I was against the name change and thought Perth promotion was worth more, but Im over it now, couldn't really careless.

What Im focused on is the outstanding facility and venue we have, as a WA person after an entire lifetime of substandard patch work sports venues it really was something to behold being there on Sunday, I said to the Mrs , I actually cant believe its happened and we are in Perth, sometimes it felt almost surreal...as if you were iin Europe or somewhere.

As for having a drinks/meals at the game, I think its part and parcel of a sports venue, I for one enjoy good service of food and beverages as do about 90% of sports patrons in Australia, its crucial that good and decent beer/ food is served and reasonable prices in a degree of comfort, its part of the experience. We are in Australia not Saudi Arabia, drinking has been part of a day at the footy or cricket since the game was invented.

But, as I have said in the past the whole mid strength over full strength beer issue was a mountain out of a mole hole, tom percy is still banging on about it on his facebook page, ffs, its 3.5% over 4.5% , 1% ! if people cant enjoy a few hours with without an extra 1% in their beer they have an issue.
The moaners should consider in Europe grog is not served at all at many sports stadiums.

disagree with your comment about food and drink Baz...if 90% all ate and drank grog, last weekend you would have seen 45,000+ patrons all trying to get served at various times during the afternoon....clearly that didn't happen. if you scan the crowd you'll probably see 1 or 2 in 10 people with a drink or food in hand at any stage so those whinging about long queues are usually in the minority as a large percentage people don't bother...me included.

nah, I was there on the day, what you see in the seats is bugger all there was a heap more behind the seats getting stuff and off course that doesn't include the thousands that pour into catering and bar facilities at half time and qrt time , breaks, the people that go there and buy absolutely nothing for the entire day would be in the minority, in the block I was in, there wasn't a single person that didn't buy at least one drink, mainly beer or a even a coke, or a snack for the day, I even saw one guy eating a snagger roll and a pie at the same time in one hand, he also bought an ice cream ( twice) plus drinks...
Obviously 45,000 folk don't get up and move all at once, its a constant trickly constant turn over of patrons over the day. And then theres the corporate level, I took a wander up there and looked at the massive deck bar, which was basically one big swim through.

As far as not having anything food or drink wise and purely sport, build a stadium with zero bars and food and see how you go, it would be an international laughing stock. you might be happy but youd be in the tiny minority is my guess, then again Subi was an oddity in that it had no social club for many years, south on the other hand was the first..lol

The story about beer running out is BS, it never ran out and it certainly didn't in the area of the stadium I was in, all beers well stocked and VERY well patronised, what happened was one or two kegs ran out and had to be changed over to another product but there was always something available,

One thing I did notice was England fans had a particular fondness for the Cider, which they gave a serious nudge to!

Don't be put off Roman, I went up and had a great day, transport was easy., and the location great.

People moaning cues really have no idea, yes they were there but they moved pretty quick in my experience and had no issues.

The issue today is the midweek clash with the working day rush our of people going home, plus the bridge being finished late, sort that out and its not that big a deal.

It is easily the best location in Perth for a 60k seat new stadium, the only real issue at the minute being the bridge not being finished as yet due to the cancellation of the previous contract which put it well behind time.

How did people find the transport going home from the game today?
