Absolutely PH, I had forgotten about Darcy and also Sam Whiteman who is fit again and would have to come into calculations for a middle order batting position. The bowling looks a bit thin outside Mackin and Kelly with all the injuries, particularly for this next game in Tasmania when the T20 guys will still be in NZ.

Once the 20/20 series is over WA will get Tye, Agar and Stoinis back which will add a bit of experience but they will have to do without them for at least 1 or possibly two games. Jono Wells will probably replace Sean Marsh and perhaps Joel Paris could get a look in if fit. I wonder if Simon Mackin may be considered as a replacement if Bird doesnt get up for the tour of South Africa (for those who didnt hear Bird strained a hamstring yesterday) Mackin has been pretty consistent this year although Sayers would be the obvious choice

Joel Paris has been ruled out for the rest of the season with another quad injury. Langer also made mention the other day his career is at the crossroads if he cant get his body finally right.

You'd be excused for thinking how good Darcy Short would be as the perfect opposite to Bancroft but he'll end up playing for another state

Southerner, I understand the offers will come for Darcy, what I'm asking is that the best decision for WA cricket going forward,

When you watch him play in the big bash, he picks up length well, he hits through the line of the ball, and to me most importantly he doesn't move around the crease, which means he has a technique that will stand up to the moving ball.

I would not pick him to open with Bancroft because he scores well and this will seemingly compliment Bancroft. I would pick him to open because I feel he is a better batter than Bosisto and I'm interested in others thoughts on that question.

If he is then WA need to do everything to keep him, and the last three shield games gives everyone a chance to work out if he can play the new ball (Which I reckon he can)

Short will open with Bosisto in a shoot out to see who will open with Bancroft for next year....I reckon if Bancroft had his way he would rather be opening for Aust instead of WA. Not sure Bosisto is up to it any way.....in regards to future international honours that is

Of course he's an obvious talent - who for some reason only known to that "coach" is not being selected , this guy is another Warner only he actually has a technique
But the Dwarf will see him off to another state

Absolutely stunned by the selections given it was a crucial fixture mate - if that is the best we've got kiss it goodbye now

Yep knocked over for 67 in our 1st dig after we let Tassie knock up 430 odd (which is way overs on that deck and with the Duke balls which swing around all innings) now being forced to follow on we are making a slightly better go of our 2nd dig but we are still a long way off saving this match.
To put it into context tho this is the least experienced WA side I can remember in 40 years of following our fortunes 3 debutants (Phillipe, Hinchcliffe, Guthrie) plus Bosisto, Inglis, Bevilaqua, Holder that haven’t played much 1st class cricket, only Cartwright, Turner, Wells & Mackin you could consider reasonably experienced.
With 8 blokes away in SA & NZ on Aust duty (S.Marsh, M.Marsh, Bancroft, Richardson, Stoinis, Agar, Short, Tye) and Coulter-Nile, Behrendorff, Paris, Green, Kelly, Klinger & Whiteman all out injured/unavailable we are playing virtually our Futures League (2nd XI) side.

5 for 176 in the second innings at stumps. Still 188 behind looks like a loss by an innings coming up. A lot of new names in this WA side so can't get too carried away.
