I blew my hard earned on the brilliant James Taylor leewin concert so couldn't go but we listened from a mates work balcony a few hundred metres from the oval, sound was clear as a bell, could hear just about everything she said. Like Heater I thought a big arena show may not work but from all reports it was a triumph.

It sure was a great success, and got great reports all around the world, pretty lucky to be the first aussie city to see it.

mate pity you missed it, you are right, the fact she writes those hits herself is quite amazing, and yep she is very down to earth and the way she relates to audience in a straight up cockney fashion is great, its actually very ozzie in manner to be honest.

I very rarely give plaundits to WAFC but the lay out and planning was great, also to Transperth, they moved 30,000 people by train that night which is an all time record for a mid week event I understand.

Mate the reason why the layout was so good is that the WAFC had pharkall to do with it, all done by the event & staging managers. The central stage was made in China and sent down in pieces, I only saw aerial shots of it but it looked amazing.

Haha...yeah your right about the WAFC...yep the circular stage was remarkable,

I think she is doing Adelaide Oval, Brisbane and then two at the Olympic Stadium in Sydney and then two at Emirates in Melbourne and two in Auckland, that wraps up the world tour which will end with two massive shows at Wembley Stadium London.

I could hear the bloody racket from Basso in the air...How effen loud was the concert. Any other non-mainstream concert would have had noise complaints from end to end in the city. Big Day Out in Claremont for example. Glad you all had a good time but fuk me if there ain't some double standards in this town regarding sound pollution and farken glad I was far enough away in Basso that I didn't have those dulcet monotones ringing in my ears. I believe a precedent has been set and future noise complaints about any gigs I'm involved can not be pursued.....oh hang on....we don't host fukkeen pop concerts grrrrrrrrrrrr

Basso is a great Big Day Out venue. I remember seeing Rammstein there in 2001, still one of the best live bands I've ever seen.

DW surely Steel Blue gets loud and rowdy every Sat night during footy season?....no doubt 42 and BH "split enz violin" duet in a packed SD members bar would push Adel for decibels surely?

Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Foo Fighters, Nine Inch Nails & Chemical Brothers at the 2000 BDO at Basso were not too shabby either!
Soundgarden unfortunately had a on stage tiff one year there as well but a great band to see live at Basso...aahh those were the days.

The concert had to finish at 10pm on the dot - this was agreed with Subi Council who of course football has had such a wonderful relationship with over the years over night games.

I went to the concert myself. The wife and son were keen and I thought 'what the heck' and bought myself a ticket as well. Didn't regret that decision at all! Although never minded her stuff on the radio - but far from a fanatic - I grew major respect for her. Awesome pitch perfect voice - and she pulled off the stadium thing which I was doubtful about.

Spot on mate, i was nervous how they would accomdate and plan for 65,000 in an old stadium. Im 60 and seen em all, and its the best concert i have ever been too. 2 rows from the stage was just unbeievable. My tip?, she wont tour again. And yeah the knockabout attitude just adds to the enjoyment. No need for backing singers are stupid back up dancers etc, just her and the powerful voice
