Point of interest Ark .India in this last test used there own ball. They have allways used Kookaburra previous.I think GM or MG is the brand.
The scores have been a lot lower in the second half of the shield.Post the Big Bash. The Duke sorting out all the flat track bullies.
The larger seam= more cut off the wicket....a heavier ball=maby more suitable for fast bowler, but bont think for a spinner....More oval shaped=not sure but maby swing in the air and reverse swing.

yep the Warriors left themselves too much to do after 4 losses in a row at the start of the season. The question is now whether NSW can chase down the 400 target to snatch the final spot from SA. They are making a pretty good fist of it at the moment.

Into the last hour of the season and the 2nd finalist has still not been decided. The Croweaters will be on the edge of their seats and be honorary Warriors for the day! NSW need 60 runs in 15 overs but with only 3 wickets in the shed. Nevill and Abbott are in so both accomplished bats but not much after that. Wouldn't it be funny if Dougie Bollinger had to hit a 4 off the last ball to get his team into the final!! What a magnificent competition the Sheffield Shield is when it can throw up finishes like this despite years of neglect by the Australian cricket hierarchy.

A few cartons of West End heading across the Nullabor tonight I reckon, especially for Ashton Turner who ended up with 6 wickets. What a finish. Warriors ended 3rd, a measly point and a half from SA.

One for Adam Voges to remember.....

Was a terrific finish down at the WACA this arvo with WA needing 1 wicket to send Adam Voges out in style & NSW needing 7 runs to win to earn a spot in the Shield Final with less than 2 overs left to bowl.
Peter Nevill who had batted well on 63 tried a reverse sweep that he hit well but straight to Klinger at short fine leg off Ashton Turner who ended up with 6 for 100 odd in a fine display of off spin bowling at the WACA.
Bring on 2017/18 with a fully fit WA pace bowling armoury of- Behrendorff, Paris, Mackin, Moody, Coulter-Nile, Richardson, Green.....

Thanks for the day 4 review BH.Peter Neville who played well must of had a moment of madness.Seems like a really bad shot selection with so much at stake.

He had played it a couple of times and got away with it for runs mate, if he hit 1 or 2 meters to the left or right of Klinger it was another 4 & NSW were virtually home funny how sport can be a game of millimetres at times.

Stephen Milne in the 2010 first GF the draw. The ball bounced out of bounds at right angle with no player within 30 metres of him.Another mm one.

I reckon the Victoria match where they let two tailenders in Tremain & Pattinson get a 100 and 50 respectively was the absolute killer & pretty much sums it up - getting even a draw in that one would have seen a final spot

Can't seem to put a whole season together - still

With Tassie capitulating and losing to SA, wasn't a Vic v SA final always on the cards irrespective of the NSW v WA game?....or did WA have to get NSW for a certain score?...or were NSW the only side capable of displacing the croweaters?Great finish to the season and kudos to both sides for having a crack tho....

...breakout season by Ashton Turner.....made runs took wickets and EARNT his spot by on field performances....ditto to Cartwright too.....thus hopefully this will be used across the board....this WA team has some fantastic potential.....Paris, Mackin, Green, Behrendorff, Moody and Richardson provide a strong fast bowling core.....Coulter-Nile is gone in the long format....obviously talented...but will be used in the short format if fit.

batting wise the likes of Bancroft, Turner, Cartwright and Inglis provide a nucleus of talent....will miss Voges and what is Klinger doing next year?

No doubt both Marsh boys will be there and there abouts.....touch wood Mitch is allowed to go away and develop his all rounder career in the best possible way.....not batting 3 or 4...but batting 7....tho he really does have to do a Turner and ACTULLY put the performances on the board....not just on potential....

Bancroft Carder Klinger Cartwright Turner Inglis/Whiteman Agar Green Paris Behrendorff Mackin/Richardson/Moody......with the Marsh boys around about no doubt could see WA snag the shield next year.....though not sure of any up n coming talents in the local comp.
