What a difference 24 hours makes! Yesterday at the WACA, WA were at one stage 7-125 chasing Queensland's first innings score of 353, so they still 79 runs short of avoiding a follow on and looking down the barrel at their 5th outright loss in a row to start the season. Thanks to another 100 from Ashton Turner and a 50 from Josh Nicholas, the last 3 wickets managed to drag the score up to a respectable 265.
Then the bowlers obviously hit the right lines and lengths and skittled the Banana benders (including 3 current or former test bats) for just 138! Simon Mackin was outstanding with 6 - 33.
Now chasing 227 the Warriors have reached stumps on day 3 at 2- 170, so only needing 57 runs with 8 wickets in hand. Great to see Voges with an unbeaten 50 and Jon Wells not out on 85.
Barring a catastrophic collapse tomorrow this should go down as an outstanding comeback victory for WA and will hopefully put some confidence and energy back into their season and lead to better results when the Sheffield Shield resumes in February.

Keep our fingers crossed that there is no batting collapse tomorrow.

He is a WA boy from Wyalcatchem, 24 years old, made his first class debut in 2013 and has played 14 first class games since so he hasn't been a regular. Fair to say that this has been a break out game for him as his figures prior to this whilst respectable haven't really been eye catching.

Unbelievable comeback, very good to see. Wells and Voges batted superbly tonight.

Yes absolutely a breakout game for big Mack, has been a solid performer for Willetton for a long time but has struggled for state opportunities given Coulter-Nile, Behrendorff, Paris et al have been ahead of him in the pecking order plus has had his injury concerns. With all those three injured at the moment he certainly is the leader of the attack and on this game's evidence is absolutely relishing that extra responsibility. Good on him!

He has had a few injury problems Mike but he is a very promising bowler.

Massive turnaround and barring a collapse it will be their first outright result. Shame we now go into a 2 month shield break just when the boys get some momentum.

Mackin strikes again, 12 wickets in the match helping the Warriors to win a thrilling game in Adelaide and keeping their hopes of making the final alive. An amazing statistic is that 4 bowlers took 35 of the 37 wickets in the match (there were 3 run outs to make up the 40), Sayers and Richardson took 9 each, Mackin 12 and Moody 5!

Just reiterating what I posted a couple of months ago Mackin is a very promising young fast bowler and Moody is coming along as well.

Another great day for the Warriors highlighted by an astounding debut by 17 year old Cameron Green. 5 for 24 if you don't mind. Its very exciting to see all this young talent being developed at the moment. It may not win WA the Shield this year but Langer certainly has them going in the right direction for success in the not too distant future. When you think that Coulter-Nile, Berendorff and Paris can potentially come back into the mix, WA have the makings of a potent bowling attack We just need a couple of young batsmen to take the reins from Voges and Klinger.
Hopefully Bancroft can kick on and get a ton tomorrow and help WA get a large first innings lead.

Is Langer in Tasmania or Sri Lanka at the moment?

Why would Langer be in Sri Lanka at the moment 42 considering the SL cricket team is currently in South Africa having their arses handed to them and then head to Australia for a few meaningless 20/20s that Langer will be involved with next week?
