Barnett is many things but one thing he isn't is dumb. By the time the election comes around he'll be able to point at Betty's Jetty, FSH, the kids hospital, Midland hospital, Yagan Square, City Link to Northbridge, the new footy stadium, the city gateway project at the causeway, Forrestfield rail to the airport and so on. sure they'll all be in various stages of completion and we'll have accumulated historic levels of state debt but voters like to see things getting done and he's certainly overseen that...so I wouldn't write him off just yet.

All of that will be invisible to the lefty's mate. Much better and easier to concentrate on negatives than positives, perfect position for the ALP.
Like I said before Barnett is on the nose but I firmly believe in 10-15 years we will look back and see what a great visionary he was and also someone who actually got things done.
It is what it is and he will be voted out I think which I think is very scary for our state.

I'm hearing you grassy but that's why Alanah McT was so popular...she got things done...and so does this government albeit badly at times I admit. I guess the big question for voters is do we want to replace one bunch of incompetants with another?

Mate, all that is true and I well know it, but I reckon after 8 and half years the wheel would of turned and the public will give labor a crack, don't expect any miracles from them the state will just drift into a malaise, one thing I know for sure is sure the Libs ran a huge debt up, but at least we have a shit load to show for it, the last time I remember a big and far more serious debt problem was when the State went broke under the ALP and WA Inc saga...what did have to show from that episode except for a Levy we had to pay??? S F A.

The best managers of money got caught, with their pants down badly, putting all their eggs in one basket, moaning and WHIGEING when their own side in Canberra wouldn't give them a bigger share of the GST carve up.

A raft of Lies and Brken promises suggests they need a good rest on the opposition benches. But don't worry,if you think this another speech fir McGowan, you are patently wrong. His party will be On Notice, because if enough swinging voters catch on,we'll be electing 1 Term Governments for quite a while, until they get the message to stop treating the electorate like mugs and be properly accountable for their actions, instead if misleading us and justifying it,with their cheer squads until the end of days.

The Days of Incumbent Governments should long gone.

Mcteirnan made a complete goose of herself with the entry into Federal politics, way past it and got there and found out she was nobody and has run off and pulled the pin , what a waste of space.

Instead of giving someone young and vibrant a crack who would now have 3 years parliamentary Experience up their sleeves she goes and hogs it with this dumb stunt.

Incumbency makes them far too comfortable now.

There is one other option, but I'll keep that option up my sleeve until I know what One major party has done with a particular bill, currently in it's 2nd reading in the Legislative Council.I really hope they've seriously reconsidered this, otherwise they can not be trusted, just like the other mob on this issue.

Continually turning Goverments over ever 3 or less years is about the worst possible thing for any place, you end up with a chaotic mess and nothing getting done.

Oh for the WA Inc. You could smell the corruption miles away. Wasn't Labor in power?

Grassy I respect your passion for your side of politics but really Rob Johnson is the most self serving politician in recent memory, he was fine and dandy and part of the team until he was replaced in the ministry by a younger minister and for not handling his portfolio in an acceptable manner. He then sulked like a pre-schooler and proceeded to put the boot into the party he had supported and was a member of for most of his life. Pathetic and a display of utter disloyalty. Once he was demoted he became a stooge for the opposition, that sums up the man.
