I'm surprised the other teams in this comp havnt realised you need five good bowler to win the big bash, the renegades should of scored 200 but the Scorchers through good bowling were able to peg them back to 170.

Berendhorf was superb and Marsh and Klinger a revelation...well done by most of the bowlers when you consider the Renegades batting line up.

What is remarkable is the fact that a first ever 10 wicket win, was done chasing 170!!!!

If chasing, say 80 or 90, then not so much but chasing 170 is pretty impressive to not lose a wicket!!

Good post anchor. I only got to see the last 6 overs, but loved it. To honest though, I can't really be bothered posting on the 20/20. Having to deal with all the self proclaimed "cricket purists" is a pain in the butt. As far as I'm concerned, I love 20/20 and all the excitement it generates.

who yatalking bout there 58!!

Apart from the poms saffers and the occassional Kiwis, CRICKET as we know it is dead, been replaced by entertainment masked as American baseball. Its the way it is, its like listening to doof doof music in the backround, occassionally i will listen and like the rare track or two, then realise how much i like REAL music. Todays "watchers"need instant gratification, i truly understand, i know i am in the minority here.

I hear you Unka, but why can't we enjoy both?

I certainly do.

Just because its shortened, doesn't mean its not cricket. It still involves 2 batsmen, a bowler, a wicket keeper, fielders etc... just needs to be all over in 40 overs.

I love test cricket, but like the 20/20 as well. Its like, how I like to sit down and watch an informative documentary with Attenborough or similar, but also like to sit down and watch a mindless action/horror movie.

overall I think that if it brings crowds to cricket, then great!!

I hear ya too Ruddiger, ima miserable old fart who generaly hates being yelled at by inane commentators and seeing grown men putting KFC buckets on thier head. I dont doubt the plyers sporting abilty, BUT its like watching a "reality" tv show, i just cant really get involved.

I'll go along with you on some of the commentators unk. But for the cricket, all the glitz is annoying, but it doesn't keep me away from the game. Test cricket for me atm is at the bottom of the list. One team making 550, the other makes 560 and ends in a boring draw. Then we have the WI series farce. Why watch this when there's a perfectly good lawn to watch grow? It's nearly as bad as watching a poofball soccer game. If test cricket ever becomes a game like it was, I'll be there. Till then, I'll let the purists slag me for watching a cricket game with intrigue and excitement, be it 20/20 or 50/50.

Didnt pay any attention the the windies in the test matches either. So basically the 20/20 was a better spectacle. I just dont go a bomb on the "product". Soccer, played at the elite level is brilliant. Even the seppos are coming on board now. Poofball?, sure they have their weird cultures, as much as there are some weiird cultures in Footy of which the rest of the WORLF fine both immature and laughable
