Haha, I can remember when a Freezer was 6c but it was called a Cherry Snow at first for a while.

Yeah, Jelly tip was a favourite.

TAB, Appla, Pinto, Big Boy Lemonade, Leed,

Aaah jelly tips now there was an ice cream ..used to devour those like there was no tomorrow while watching Viv Richards pulverise our bowlers all over the park in the summer time of the 80's!

The Scarborough Pinnies - When I was a schoolboy I used to cash in soft drink bottles and head down there to play as many machines as I could. Some times if I won enough free games on a machine I'd sell all of them to older blokes for 20c to get my money back. One of the worst days of my life when they were demolished. In a life full of downs and not many ups, winning $20 as a 12 year old for breaking the all time high score on Mata Hari at Toms was about as good as it got.

Scarborough High School - Not sad about that though as wasn't smart enough to get past year 10 anyway.

Flashing Swan/Swan Lager sign on the river - It was the height of technology for me at the time. Two signs on the one building. Wow!

Mata Hari is a great pinball and one of my favorites. I used to spend my time playing at Kelly's pinball parlour in the city which is long gone as is Crystal palace on Murry st and Strombeckers on Barrack st which are also gone.

Nearly every burger bar - Only a few remain, like Alfreds, Peter's By The Sea and the one is Freo which used to be called Captain Munchies. We used to have at least 20, several along Stirling Highway alone. A few used to be called "Eats"

Jeez yeah Dazzler Space Invaders was a great machine.

You're not talking about that great subi supporter from North Innaloo JFC, Umpire Wayne Barron?

Awesome art work on that wide body machine. One of the best back glass I have seen great machine.

I most certainly am LH. The great Wayne "Yumbo" Barron. We grew up together playing for NIJFC.

He was known as Yumbo in his junior days due to his penchant for that long gone Hungry Jacks offering.

He's now making his way through the umpiring ranks aspiring to the great heights reached by his good mate Mick Martell.

Still see him at P v S clashes each year, still a loyal Lion.

Yeah, top man old Wayne. I usually have a beer with him every home game.

I think he's a member of this forum. I told him to join up a couple of weeks ago.

Another great NIJFC luminary of the same vintage it would be great to see on this site is "Filthy" Phil Smart although he's probably got a few other things to worry about these days looking for coins down the back of the sofa to keep SDFC afloat.

I notice "Yumbo" was umpiring the Midland-Guilford v Subi-Floreat game today. Hope he didn't have another Swart moment :woohoo:

Funny you should mention old Phil.

I was waiting at the bus stop outside the Carine the other night after a few pints and a meal and a car pulled into the stop and it was Phil who kindly dropped me off home.

I tried to dig some Swans secrets out of him but he wasn't having any of it.

I thought I would bump this topic ..for anyone that is on facebook the Lost Perth page that has appeared over the last few weeks has photos etc of a lot of the places we were all reminiscing about over the Summer. Worth a look as there are plenty of old WAFL pics on this page as well.
