Spot on JB. It's a pity though we have to put up with Gilchrist, Ponting, Waugh and worst of all, Fleming. I thought Mark Taylor was bad (and he is) but Fleming is in another realm.

Mark Howard and Andy Maher are ok as are Roz Kelly and definitely Mel McLaughlin. Can't believe she is 35.

Mel McLaughlin is absolute quality OTO!

Maybe they could bring Kelly Underwod back to do some cricket commentary :woohoo:

Same as Simmons to the Strikers.

Indeed, funily enough true i agree. Though many a proud footy player has steyed with his club( let alone state!!), been well rewarded anyway. Im sure MR Cricket ( who i do admire by the way), has quite enough $$$ anyway. I dont blame him about taking the extra $$$,just proves to me its just a hit and giggle and not "nuts and bolts" sports of which i find a lot easier to assocaite with. they dont take it serioulsy but expect us to cheer and support them heartily

Its the in thing with the young kids UNKA, You should try to watch it mate, I wasn't a fan to start with but im warming to the game, especially now as the players understand it more and its not just a slog fest. It has improved the range of shots batters now have, and it has put more onus on bowlers to execute their changes of pace and bounce, not just run in and bowl

as for the cash Mr Cricket has or is making by playing at Sydney, this is also a great way for old buggers (Kallis, Flintoff, Hoggy, Hussy etc) to fund their retirement and not have a full time job like you or I, A few weeks in Australia, A few weeks in India, A few weeks in the Carribean, and you have made more than enough money per year.

You cant begrudge anyone that opportunity to make money

I may be out of line here but I find it a bit cringe worthy the carry on after Warner and Smith score centuries with their continuos tributes to Phil Hughes it may be time to let it go.

Ya lost me at "Batters" PH :) :) :)

Serioulsy if the likes of Kallis Flintoff and Hussey aint set em selves up for life after all the endoresments, contacts, they made over the years, then in all honesty i have no sympathy for em.

then my question is why dont they do it privately and not put on a show for all to see? after all the other public services, memorials, press interviews and so on it's a classic case of grandstanding for mine.

I was in Galle in Sri Lanka 10 days ago and there's a memorial for Hughes at the cricket ground there so it's not as though the memory is diminishing any time soon that would require current players to keep bringing it up. it's not a big deal to me either way but thought PN made a pretty good point.
