Yep mr fish, why drop thet kind of $$$ when you can watch it live on TV, not get sun burnt, walk to the fridge and grab a beer without lining up ( not too mention no limit on how many you take from the fridge at any one time), not have to worry about a tosser security guard deciding to threaten to throw someone out for accidently standing in the wrong area, not have to sit next to a family with the kids getting up and moving every 2nd ball, eat food at home that won't block you bowels for a week, no hand towels in the dunny...... love living in this state but WA needs to look how the MCG is run and its facilities. No wonder the AFL treat the WAFC like hillbillies.

Yeh, got me fkd. We (govt included) complain that no big entertainers want to come here, big sporting events are scared to come here and what do our govt/organisers etc do to make it more attractive??? SFA. I think we have this feeling that the mining boom will fix all ills. Guess what...we are gunna get our arses burned big times and soon. Go to a place like Tassie and see what they are doing to stay in the game.

I think it's more to do with the utter contempt the ACB/Channel 9 treats the WA public. I don't care who's playing, you're not going to get big crowds to a game on a Friday or a Sunday DAY game. The reason they don't have day-night games in Perth is that the matches will finish too late on the east coast due to daylight savings (QLD excluded). At the end of the day it's all about advertising revenue and the fact is that whilst crowds are low in WA, Channel 9 get to extend prime time viewing in the East, which means more $ in the pocket.

Case in point - all Scorcher's day/dusk-night games (Foxtel) and the majority of Perth Glory home games, being night matches (Foxtel). Glory had 12k+ attend last night and the upcoming Friday night game next week will have 15k+ attend because Foxtel at least charges for service...

What are you talking about mate, the Perth arena is attracting more big act entertainers than ever, it's just cricket is dieing in the arse all around the world here included, the WACA should be demolished and sold off and they can play Sheffield shield or whatever

Unless it is an Anglo-Australian match they have never filled the WACA. The exception would be a few ODI games against the WI in the early 1980s. This is not a sign that cricket is dying it is simply that people do not want to watch largely meaningless cricket played by mostly average cricketers whom are over paid in their mediocrity. Not one Australian batsman can play for his off-stump by going back and across, meaning they cannot play good bowling or short bowling.

Next year, in England, the grounds will be full. I am looking forward to it,
