RN at Charlies, Try and keep a wife and 2 kids happy.

100 games of Juniors for Queens Park. 100 games of ammatures (and two flags) for SNESA.

Support Perth and all non Victorian afl (extended vfl) teams.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

TFAF, i hope that either of your 2 kids (assuming one or both are male) if they are good enough to play footy at AFL level don't get drafted by a Victorian side. Does this mean you'll disown them?

Hey all. I follow West Perth and always have. I have a small involvement still in footy watching games for an AFL club. Love my footy and cricket but love american sports most of all.

Hates - the Wafl/Afl alignment. Has killed it for me.
The Eagles.

I have posted a little but try keep my nose out unless it's constructive. Love to read though.

Didn't realise the young bloke had started this thread over 3 years ago, we have a great relationship based on close communications .... just kidding.

Obviously I bleed Maroon & Gold, my grand daughter is the 4th generation to be a Subi member. An uncle played some league back in the 30's coached 3rds and 4ths back in the day and the old man played ressies post war.

I'm 60 and run my own small architectural practice in Burswood. Played juniors up to u/18's for Jolimont FC out of Selby oval and a few Am's games at Floreat, spent some time down in Mandurah and did some junior coaching with South Mandurah FC.

Grew up in Wembley, have lived NOR & SOR, moved 13 times, built 7 homes (occupational hazard!!)currently reside in Bayswater.

Cant wait for March every year for the start of Footy season, love the WAFL, love the friendly banter at games between passionate supporters but not when it get to personal and feral, but despair at what the WAFC are doing to the WAFL. The alignment has been woefully handled, should have watched what the SANFL did and followed their lead ... on most issues.

Favourite memories are queuing for finals at the Roberts rd gates with my bro's so we could race down and get a spot by the fence back in the 60's. The '73 GF and in the new clubrooms after the game ... cant remember much after about 8pm.

Hoping that the WAFL can stay true to it origins and continue being a leading community sports based institution.

Near the Mathews Netball Centre, isn't it?

G'day Grassy, great to have you back in action.

Selby oval in on the corner of Grantham and Selby Sts on the border of Wembley & Floreat. Funny oval back in the day, north south orientation with approx 1m slope down to the north end so we always tried to kick with the slope in the last. u'16's & u/18's we played our home games on Henderson oval which is the one you might be thinking of, also home of our bitter rivals Wembley FC.
