Subiaco-1973 on another wet+windy 1970's GF.Broke a 49 year drought.
1986-The last of the Wafl Gf's before the Eagles.Between 1975 to 1983 apart from 1981.Subi faced liquidation, relegated to the Sunday League. And where regularly defeated by 20 goals.
South Fremantle-between 1945-56 won 6 Gf's and where runners up 3 times.
Also big wins in 1970,80+1997.
East Perth-the Wafl power club from the late 1950's till 1980.But only won 2 flags.
1972 after losses in 1960,61,66,67,68,69,71.Only 1969 was a blowout the rest where hard foughtgames.
As told by Royal Lucky hard to go past 1978.The Captain Coach in the last 10 weeks got everything out of his players. In tight matches in front of massive crowds. And then that Grand Final.
East Fremantle-the most successful club in the Wafl.Currently in the club's worse period in history.
1965-After losing in 1962,63+cliffhanger in 1964..3/4 time 1965 the Old Easts where 25 points down v Swans.Came home with a 9 goal v 2 final quarter to win in 1965.
1979-was a good win v the Old enemy in front of a record Subi crowd.
West Perth some huge Gf's wins in 1969+1975 in front of record breaking crowds. They really turned it on when it counted.
1995-A long 20 year drought by West Perth standards. They turned it on again that day.
Claremont- 2 premiership come to mind 1964+1981.Both hard fought wins and that super 1981 team.
1987+1991 are remembered for very strong post Eagles sides.
Perth-big win by 2 points in 1955 v East Freo the hot favourites.
Hat trick in the 1960's + double in the 70's.Massive GF win in 1977.
Swans-1961 Swans first GF win and probably the biggest upset in Wafl history.
1982-19 year drought broken after disappointing exits in 1980+81.
1984-with half the side gone from 1980 .Toddy got that team up to complete the hat trick.
2010- Krakourer of a season and Grand Final.Point of interest that season had 3 powerclubs.Which probably explains the big attendance for games that season.

Every minute of the '79 and '85 G/F's.

Against the odds years in '92 and '94.

For family reasons enjoyed the 2010.

Agree with that Devon. What about Judgies “too bloody old, too bloody slow, too bloody good”.

While I wasn’t around at the time, don’t forget the 1946 undefeated season without being carried by VFL/AFL clubs nor any external financial assistance.

I remember those early 60’s GFs. My mate was an SD tragic and we used to listen to them in our little country town. The 65 was best, we sat on a dusty, dry oval for the whole game tuned in to it on my tiny radio.

1912
1973
the one against EP alignment

the reason I have not put in 1986, is because I have always believed we should have beaten EF that year, by virtue of having the better side. Often, this is forgotten, in view of EF's very good win in the second semi final.

Well done Ark the EP alignment. 2013 or 14 West Perth got them the year before.

gtr: yep, I have always been thankful to the garlic munchers for winning the year before as well. We should have won one of our grand finals against the Peel alignment, as you know, but messed it up.

You would have enjoyed the last quarter of the 1965 game Shark. Not your mate though.
