Yes

Thanks for confirming DW. I assume if successful he will become the first Peel player to coach a WAFL league team. I reckon you could do a lot worse than him.

Who would have thought an ex Peel player could end up coaching the Swan Districts league side. Not many I'd guess.

Using RD's extremely tenuous premise that would mean that Brian Dawson was from Perth. I can assure you that he was a Swans' supporter growing up and therefore, RD's premise is as fallacious as his deluded belief Fremantle didn't win last year's WAFL GF.

lol only you could claim simple facts - former Peel player - as an "extremely tenuous premise". I can only assume you either don't comprehend the situation (who he supported growing up doesn't change the fact he's a former Peel player) or you don't have a good handle of the english language.

RD you are grasping at straws given your own coach has admitted that for ALMOST all the time the Freo players don't train with the REEL players. Must have been a great training session for the FIVE Peel players leading up to the 2016 GF.

PS I have evidence regarding my grasp of the English language.

PPS You forgot to mention Riggio.

Peter German's Peel career obviously left a lasting impression down at Royalties For Regions Park then RD?
Surely nowhere near as bad as the 2003 Peel coach...surely! ;)

On Trent he was a member of our 1991 Colts Premiership side before playing League footy at Swans & yes Peel as well RD!

Believe Coops is also the games record holder at the Noranda Junior Football Club and played PSA footy at Guildford Grammar. Lifelong Swans supporter who also happened to play at Peel for a bit. Was pretty handy at Wesley Curtin A grade ammos for a number of years. Believe he was an All-Australian ammos player at least once and kicked quite a few goals at that level. Could say he was poetry in motion as a long left foot kick but that would be stretching it a little too far ...even my shady memory is he had a wind up a young Geoff Lawson would have been proud of

I'm not grasping at straws at all. I simply asked your admin a question about a former Peel player applying for the Swans coaching position. Not sure what training and last years GF has to do with it. Perhaps you're grasping at straws after incorrectly attacking my factual post. As far as I'm aware Riggio isn't an applicant for the Swans coaching position.

BH - good point re German but technically mate your incorrect as he coached before he played a handful of games for Peel at the end of his long playing career. Where as our Trent debuted at Peel and played the vast majority of his league career at Peel. Didn't know he was a colts premiership player at Swans but know of his and his family ties at Swans including a colts premiership as coach at Swans.

RD let me give you a tip. If this forum was around in 1983 and we one day from a second semi final I can guarantee you I would not be posting about another club's candidates for coaching. Rather I would be talking about the possibility of winning a second semi-final and qualifying for the GF and winning consecutive Grand Finals.

Of course I would have had something to discuss. Presumably at this point in time you have no idea how many Freo players will be allowed to play tomorrow.

Be interesting to see how many of these Freo players playing for Peel will be former Freo players in a fortnights time 42....I kinda wish EF had gone for Cooper or Dwyer TBH....young with fresh ideas and not so AFL institutionalized in their footy thinking.....was Cooper a mid in his day?
