Whilst I also believe that we should give people a second chance, I think there should be strict conditions attached to it. The first should be a measurable fitness level by a certain date. Provided that is met, the next stage should be the requirement to play in the ressies for at least 8-10 matches in the ressies (actual season not pre-season matches). Then and only then would the player be considered for league selection. The final condition is that there would be one strike and your out.

You boys are kidding yourselves. You either accept him back or you don't.
His fitness and form come the season proper will dictate whether he plays League or Ressies.

Newman (if it is him) would want to first of all apologise to all members and fans and then as 42 said serve his penance in the ressies to start with no matter who he is. And agree one f**k up and you are Gawn.
