time to get some talk on here about this mini-final. should be a great game with a decent crowd possibly. Swans have more to lose here. A loss will make it almost impossible for them to get back in considering how much percentage they will have to make up.

the old easts on the other hand will still have a shot at it the following week if they can roll claremont (not impossible) and Swans lose to west perth (possible). So swans need this win badly.

souths form could trouble EP, so with that in mind east perths chances will also hinge on the last game. It could be a close fight to the line for EP,EF and SD.

Swans were very ordinary after 1/4 time last week, we looked to have run out of gas...
been too much pressure on Swoop with no other tall target down there and if Dodd or Howlett blankets Swoop it will be tough..

I suspect that there may be a couple of changes to the line up this Saturday. Certainly a make or break game for us on Saturday. Looking forward to the game with a fair degree of optimism.

SD will need a complete shutdown on O'Brien, his workrate is first class & they go through him all the time, also Brad Dick needs physical attention right at the first bounce..he's very clever & elusive but a few in the ribs at the start of the game will sort him out.. If EF are allowed to free wheel they will win easily.

What a dream game for the WAFL! If this one doesn't attract a crowd then nothing will. For Swans its season over if they lose. The Sharks potentially have one more roll of the dice if they fall short, but I'm sure their supporters won't want to be in a position of relying on other results in round 24. The Sharks are the form team of the competition at the moment and they come into the game with far more momentum than their opponents. Mcgough, Tropiano, Peake, Henson, O'Brien and Stephen all had 25+ possessions last week and they have multiple goal scoring options in Dick, Young and Howson with others chipping in as well.

By contrast Swans midfield has been a bit down in the last few games but I would find it difficult to believe that they couldn't crank it up for this finals type game, a lot will come down to how Robbo, Roachie,Riggio, Hilders and Elari go against the above mentioned East Freo players.

Swans have actually played better this year when their backs have been against the wall. Examples include round 1 against East Freo when they were down 2 guys on the bench in the heat, the Anzac day game V West Perth when they were backing up 4 days after being beaten by Peel. There was also a game in mid season at Lathlain where Perth had control all day, but Swans hung in there and snatched the game in the last moments when a defeat would have meant them slipping to 3-6. So I think the boys can come out and perform a lot better on Saturday, whether its good enough to get the chocolates is another matter.

We have got a few trump cards though. Geappan always seems to play well against the Sharks and he will be hoping that to continue. Garlett could be very dangerous especially if the midfield deliver the ball well to him.
Simpson may well be back too which will help a lot with the balance of the team. The Eagles have already indicated that they will delay Embley's 250th till their last home game, so he may also be available for Swans this week.

This will be a very nervous afternoon for both sets of supporters, great for a neutral though! Lets hope it lives up to the billing

From what I saw from EF last week Swans will romp it in.. EF played a WP B side and at half time we were with them.. SD will come out of the blocks and bury EF.. Watch this space.

I must have been at a different game on Sunday because I could have sworn we outscored you guys by 12 goals in one half of football. I thought we looked like a well oiled & committed machine, but I guess you guys were so poor & depleted you just made us look that good. How much would we need to have won by on Sunday to be rated at all by you? 120, 130 + points?

Mikeh, I think it is fitting that the final place in the top 4 will most likely be decided in this game. Both sides have been inconsistent at times during the year & we have only really gotten into gear in the latter part of the season. The form line would favour us but I am not taking anything for granted. Swans pride themselves on supporting their club so I hope fans from both sides attend in good numbers. Bassendean is one of my favourite away grounds & I have made sure that I was freed up to attend this game. Can't wait.

I see what you mean BH ;) .......

fingers crossed for Cardy's sake WP get some of those MIA players back before the finals start.....it's obvious their B team is shite.....actually I was quite suprised how soft some of those newbies were for WP.....but then again WP colts were an embarrassment, so I guess any WP youngster coming out of that junior environment would be B rated......actually I think B is pretty high TBH.....more so a D or a F.

Yeah should be a cracker of a game this week v SD.......as cardy says, watch this space....but what space are we talking about here.....between his ears?....between his dentures?....between beers?....perhaps between EF and SD?......I'll just sit tight and wait like the wise old owl told me to!!
