we haven't lost for a while so i won't be into the absent arguament.i think most east perth supporters give this site a miss due to the unbalnaced views put forward.i do not include you mikeh as i find you fair in your views.a case of a unbalanced view was that maybe some payback was due after the scoreboard fiasco at basso.the thing that no one gets is that the more hate shown to east perth and it's players will lead to motivation to play better.it is a long way to go yet but before the season started i doubted we would be in the position we are because of several players leaving and no real recruiting.this was an important game for us to win as we need to beat both the swans and perth to get in the four and with a game in hand we need to win 5 of the last seven.i still favour swans to sneak in before perth as 4 of their last 6 are hard games.swans have to play peel twice in their last five so should scrape in.footy is a funny game and a few strategic injuries may knock the royals, swannies and demons out of the race.only time will tell.

See the double bye didn't seem to effect ur guys today chaddy22..came out of the blocks flying and thought it set the tone for the rest of the game...was a very even match in 2nd half with ur bigs being the difference.... The result aside another cracking game of WAFL footy I witnessed today...who says our comp is dead...been loving the quality of footy I've seen this year

Fair points Chaddy22, I personally don't hate East Perth even though I don't agree with the alignment. I try and see a game for what it is, which means you recognise the good play of both teams even though you still want your team to win. Johnson is the best big man in the comp and he bossed the game today so it was always going to be hard for any opposition. But as you said football is a week by week proposition and injuries can change things dramatically. I think that its great that there are still 6 teams in the running at this stage of the season

double bye always a worry as we had some momentum but it did give wullfy a couple of weeks to get over his bruised ribs.the game panned out as thought big man power versus pace.some highlights and lowlights.lots of great goals and some very good marks.as good as johnson was so was garlett and don't know how much more of a threat he would have been if he was fully fit.a lowlight was the umpiring both ways.the umps had both sides of supporters and radio commentaters confused with some of their decisions.i also saw a spear tackle result in a free kick and to see wullfy poleaxed was not a good thing to see.interesting to see the result of the brawl and who got reported.if no reports i think plenty of fines.i think geappen got reported pre brawl.i think both teams saw this as a pivotal game and who won this one may knock the other out of the four temporarily or permanently

Are you sure you support Swans mikeh you seem far to cogent. Good game yesterday with both teams just off the boil, but the commitment unquestionable. A likely elimination final on the cards and whoever gains the home final may be in the box seat. should be a good finals series in what I consider the last legitimate WAFL Season. The perfect result would be a Swans VS EP Grand Final but I think Claremont are coasting at the moment and West Perth occupying the spot of a better side.

Your an idiot Royal 2019. West Perth have been in second spot for most of the season.
Yesterday was hopefully just one of those days. Every team has them. Even you guys. So please give credit where its due.

Yeah umpiring was interesting for sure. You guys seem to get a few in front of goal which had us boiling but sometimes that's what happens when there are big forwards to deal with. Liked the way Josh Smith goes about it and enjoyed the battle between him and Ames. Was told the free kick count was 30-21 in Swans favour so hard to blame umps as being the deciding factor. East Perth were harder at it earlier and probably just nudged it in that area over the duration hence the result. Quite positive we'll get ya next time B)

you wont see many ep people post here ever i feel. it is a constant battle so they wont bother. i post about other subjects its easier that way . i cant get drawn into defending what my club did. i dont agree with it, but our opinion wasnt considered anyway. just gotta move on and roll with the punches. what can you do?

wasnt at the game yesterday but it sounded like a good one. good close game and with 2 goals in it, im sure swans will keep pushing for the rest of the year. in fact i am sure they will. 5 or 6 teams could win the flag. claremont are not a shoe-in yet. stay positive fellas.

Dead right Frank, every side has off days and it is only july, Sometimes you learn more from a loss like you had yesterday than what you do if you win by 40, The Eagles will be flat next week after getting themselves up to beat us like we were yesterday early after a big win the week before, I just hope for your sake they dont get the maggot assist ratio of 6-2 in front of goals they had yesterday , thats more important than the 30-21 kick count, and thats if you believe that kick count as I dont reckon the WAFL are always accurate from what ive heard
Beneath the Southern cross i stand, on Bassendean Oval, can in hand, Swan Districts, you Farkin Beauty!

Gday Swandog, that free kick count was relayed to me from one inside the SD coach's box having a post-match chat so absolutely no guarantee it is correct, just what I was told. Free kicks in front of goal crucified us in the end, 100% agree. Where they there? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!
