Probably the most important game for both teams so far this season. The winner will get a real advantage in the fight for a finals spot. Swans are coming off two commanding performances against Perth and Claremont and will be hoping to deliver a similar effort on Saturday. There are potentially going to be a few changes with Newman on extended leave and Blight and Howard injured from last week, not sure if they will come up. I doubt we will get Neale back from Freo given their outs so it may pave the way for Travis Casserley to make his return. Harding may also be tempted to bring in someone like Blakely to provide support for Lobb and Notte, given the strength of East Perth's big man brigade.

As for the Royals, they must be pretty frustrated with the insane WAFL fixturing as they were building up a good head of steam in late June before they were halted by 2 byes in a row! So they will need to get back into it quickly. Interesting that the last time the two teams played at Bassendean, Swans had not played for 23 days and it showed at times during that match. Most games between these two teams are ultra competitive and only decided in the last quarter and given what's at stake this week, I expect this one to be the same.

What are your thoughts on this match folks?

Should be a ripper, and I think the action inside the contest will be hot, we have the advantage in pace and hope we exploit this with run and carry across the lines and if Cass plays then his role of breaking the lines could be pivotal. Although he will be underdone. I don't know if their in and under warrior in Wulf is back from injury this week, I hope not. Once again Davo and Riggs massive keys for us
Beneath the Southern cross i stand, on Bassendean Oval, can in hand, Swan Districts, you Farkin Beauty!

Will be interesting to see if anyone at WCEP will tinker with the scoreboard. As for the game I'm looking forward to seeing us carry last week's intensity in to this game and putting the rest of the comp on notice. Haven't seen enough WAFL this year to have an opinion on WCEP so looking forward to hearing what you guys have to say over the next few days with regards to match ups etc

Howard looked like he did an ankle from what I could see when he was on the bike behind the dug out. That might be a week or so off. ( might be good to rest him until after the bye as he needs to be looked after ).
Blight had blood streaming from what looked like a thigh full of sprigs and a bruise on his calf, I'd say he got stomped on in a tackle. He might be ok.
Casserley might come in for Howard, Broad in for Newman and Blakey in for Blight if he doesn't come up.

Hildebrandt back after 1 week which is a real bonus, so Casserley will have to cool his heels in the ressies for another week. Hilders for Newman would be the only change I would imagine if Blight is fit.

As for East Perth, Wulff is back, I really rate him, he is a real in and under type and played well against us last time at Bassendean. Also I recall Oakley- Nicholls cut us up last time with near enough 30 possessions and Josh Smith kicked 5 goals. That was the game that Tallen injured himself and Smith broke loose when he was off the ground so hopefully he can stay fit and keep Smith quiet this time. At the other end of the ground, Swoop may be given a break by the Eagles who appear to have picked Blaine Wilson , who kept Tim very quiet ( 1 goal) in the last game.

Should be a great game

Two weeks off and having to pick up the tempo is going to be hard for my old mates. Swans to win but WCEP to be better for the run
