Probably a ruckman to replace Blakely  and a FF to replace Kohlmann.

As for stopping Peel in the GF this weekend....if EF did it with  ease in 2023, can't see why EP won't do the same in 2024....both East's had/have flag droughts to end....that's enough motivation right there.

Not much to say about the game, the final margin and the way it unfolded was pretty much as expected and I don’t think the result would’ve been much different if Pina and Tester weren’t injured early. Clearly too tall with Noble and Erceg both in the team and both were horribly ineffective and exposed.

The season itself has been a long time coming and while the possibility of Hughes returning and the likelihood of an attempt to recruit a genuine ruck and a fwd who can ruck will be the wish it has been a concern of mine for a while now the somewhat amateur standards the club seemed to have adopted in allowing several players to have separate training arrangements.

While it has had a positive impact to some extent and it has allowed Notte, Kohlman, Blakely and Noble to continue playing at the level which is great it is clearly evident that the physical conditioning of opposing teams looks to be far superior, not just Peel.

If Swans are to become consistent challengers and take the next step then it is something that I feel needs to be addressed. Tester, Hilton, Watson, Chipper, Collins, Kelly, Pasini and co need to bulk up or put on some lean muscle. The run is our strength but when it comes to the crunch like the past 2 weeks the bigger bodies are what comes to the for.

I'm thinking that Cartwright may be looking at his options given his lack of opportunities this season. I would say Germs won't be back either as his card appears to be marked. Has Tony Notte officially announced his retirement?  I was surprised that he wasn't chaired off the ground yesterday so maybe he is toying with the idea of going around one more year to try and get that elusive premiership?  He is certainly still worth his spot in the team

Have to say, Notte looked pretty old out there Sunday and haggard by the end of the day. I doubt he has much left in him.

IF Notte does go around again it should be on the proviso that it’s a clear plan for 7-10 games with breaks after 2-3. This would allow him to stay fresh for a possible finals tilt and still be able to have high impact.

I understand this is somewhat contradictory to an earlier post about training standards etc but Notte deserves that opportunity. My point earlier was the impact on the team when it’s with 3,4,5 players and then the overall conditioning of the entire squad.

I’ve heard that Notte and the rest of the “older” contingent at the club will be back next season. Agree he would need to be managed for next season to some degree.

Will be interesting which players the club will get in. Seems like there are a couple of ex Swans draftees that are available

I agree with Bazza, tough calls have to be made and if Notte goes around again it will be at the detriment of the side. I was at the Swans v Ferals Final and Notte was a liability, he's finished, great career but finished.
