Just had another look at the incident involving Jesse Turner and Clark from Perth. Apparently it will be referred to the tribunal. Thankfully Clark is OK but I think Jesse is in a bit of strife looking at the footage.

BH I think if you look again that WAFL injury page is 12 months old.
Bad news for you guys there are only 2 missing from last week's side.
Just McInnes and Smith missing from last week.
DF it was updated last week as Costigan is showing as shoulder 8-9 weeks and he only injured his shoulder against Claremont in Rd1 (in the first 5 minutes of the game)!

A pretty good performance on Saturday night to come away with a 50 point win especially after losing Jetts early in the contest and a couple of other boys who were injured & cramping badly who played on deep to give us some midfield rotations.
The midfield got their hands on the footy and gave our forwards enough supply to hit around that 100 point mark again, which in itself is great to see after years of piss poor low scoring.
The defence was pretty rock solid after letting 20 past last week (not all their fault though I might add) whilst the forwards scored reasonably freely although missed a few very gettable chances and not quite the straight goalkicking of last week though a fluky side breeze probably attributed to some of those misses.
Great win by the Colts who had a few out's this week from last week against Claremont whilst the Ressies had their chances but couldnt take them going down by 15 points.

Now for the brickbats.
Playing surface aside (which is superb and the best in the WAFL) what on earth is (still) going on at Lathlain (Eagle) Park?
This must be the 4th or 5th year we have played there since they demolished the old (great) scoreboard and there is still no replacement that either works or is up to WAFL standard.
Surely it should be a prerequisite of every WAFL club to have a permanent fixed big scoreboard easily to read at all WAFL venues?....Fark even junior & amateur clubs have them and time clocks and not a faulty small thing sitting on the back of a rusty old ute!
Then you can also throw in there is still no time clock or wind sock at the venue since then either and it is still a sandpit up in the NE end pocket behind the goals....not bloody good enough!

Honestly thought I had been transported to a time back in the early 1900s when the scoreboard was a part of the fence. I used my mobile to monitor the time in each quarter but it really was a joke as I have been to some amateur games where they have a proper scoreboard but a 2nd tier footy ground can't even provide the basics for spectators who pay $15 to get this facility amongst other things

Mike the old (great) scoreboard was knocked down 5 years ago....so why is there still not a permanent reliable scoreboard with a time clock & a wind sock in its place?
How could anyone from Perth be happy with that pathetic excuse of an unreliable scoreboard on the back of that rusty old ute that has been used since then?
It is amateur stuff and as a WAFL regular for more than 40 years that pays $15 at the gate to the away games I expect better from a WAFL venue and a great traditional club like Perth who I do have a soft spot for!
If you remember we had a problem with our scoreboard footings about 5 years ago and it was knocked down & replaced within the same year!

Our old scoreboards were brilliant for all info , even races & sometimes even VFL games - pretty sure at time even other games lower grades were keenly up to see
Hate seeing these grand beasts disappearing - surely it costs less to maintain & run than some electronic pile of dung
Still love sitting in the outer under them maybe it's just old habit hey

Agree entirely Mike and Beas re the scoreboard situation. Most Perth supporters are just as frustrated that we have a scoreboard that belongs in E grade amateurs. If WCE are responsible then I am still very disappointed, but not surprised. Your team played very well on Saturday night and should have a good season. A lot of questions now hang over how Perth will go.

Laddies. That scoreboard on the back of the Datsun is a disgrace to WAFL stalwarts everywhere and Perth should be disgusted with what happened on Saturday. At worst  it’s what my grandson calls an iPad, and at best it could be used as an anchor on my old 3.8m quintrex. On to the footy and at quarter time I thought we were in some bother with an injury or two but it was dominant after that. Call the fat controller and get all aboard as we are on to finals my laddies.

Jesse Turner suspended for 3 weeks for the tunnelling incident. Seems about right.Thought it might have been reduced to 2 given that he hasn't got a record (I don't think) and he is generally seems more of a ball player. Then again he might have had it reduced from 4 weeks because of that.
