Probably time to put Round 1 to bed and get on with our next opponent which is Claremont at Claremont Oval.
Claremont are coming off rolling the seemingly unbeatable Subi on their home turf last weekend apparently taking it right up to them both physically and skills wise whilst Swans after being 20 points up at 3 qtr time ultimately surrendered meekly against WP in the last qtr at Basso at the very same time.
I am sure Ric will give us the exact details but I am sure we havent won there since 2012 so well and truly long overdue there.
The last time we ventured there was the very last game of 2019 and what was dished up that day was one of the most insipid performances I have ever seen by a SD team and I have seen many of them over the last 40 years or so.
From memory Claremont won by 100+ points and at one stage kicked about 15 unanswered goals which is just unforgiveable and not good enough at any level let alone WAFL League.
I doubt George will be back before the bye and the Reserves (and Colts) were pretty disappointing as well last weekend, Costigan & Germs got injured whilst Bayok only played a half so not sure who was banging down the door for a League game but any of Doc, Italiano, Hughes, Riley, Bright, O'Sullivan & Cox who did some good things up forward might get a look in.

I think we’ll go very close here. They won’t dominate the ruck against Gault like they did against subi so we’ll match their midfield nicely.

Blakely & Italiano have to be promoted by Swan Districts for this game - Blakely for his big man presence and Italiano for his X factor that Claremont will have to put someone with
And get Notte at CHB to glue things down

Gault v Goddard could be a great battle of the giants. Italiano? Who? Can't see the Tigers selection commitee putting too much time into him..

Going to be an interesting match this one. If Swans can play and sustain a full match like they came alive in the third quarter of last week, they'll give Claremont some headaches. Next week sees us a 1/3 of the way through the season already. To get a win on the board this week being very important. The weather is looking good for match day. If the chance of rain fall eventuates, it should hold off until early evening. Swans have lost the last four matches between the teams. Good chance to turn it around.

Looks like we have made 3 changes to last weeks, last quarter capitulation.
Bayok, More & O'Sullivan are in and Waite, Beck & Bain are out at this stage.

BC - I agree but stranger things have happened.
Thankfully I will be enjoying the hospitality of the Claremont Hierachy so hopefully the Cab Sav will either deaden my pain or fuel my delight. Either way I will have a good time.

Well, when your own club treats you like a leper it is always comforting to know some clubs appreciate what you did.
