AR speaking to the viability of the WACA and I agree that it survives basically on 3 days of a test; a couple of on day internationals (thought this is diminishing) and the BBL. I certainly don't think that converting the WACA to a 10,000 boutique stadium for WAFL is economically justified. I haven't seen any signs that the WACA is interested in the Sheffield Shield and success of WA in the Sheffield Shield.

42 did Victoria deserve an upgraded Junction Oval, QLD an upgraded Allan Border Field or NSW an upgraded new second cricket facility in the GWS region?
As all of those have happened and or in NSW case is happening so why should WA be left in the outer YET again???

BH absolute non sequiturs. Do you want the WAFL GFs restricted to 10,000? Also, that would not be 10,000 GA but 10,000 - WACA membership.

Also, will you be happy if home games are transferred from Basso to the WACA?

Where has there been any mention of WAFL GF's played there?
A 10k venue would only be suitable for Subiaco and Peelmantle GF as they both have virtually no supporters!

Rubbish....25,000 at this years GF even against a club declared bankrupt and supporters dropping off in droves...so not sure where that comment is coming from.

There wouldn’t have been more than 2000 Subiaco supporters there..you were hopelessly outnumbered in the Colts, Reserves and League games!

Swan 42: you don't have to worry, Barnett knocked back the WACA for the money , as you know. If I was the Minister of the Crown, I would tell her that any future submission will only be considerred in the light of success in the Shield.

That would put any future WACA development in jeopardy for decades then AR with this current lot....another double failure for Wells surely that has to mean time for the 30yo former Tasmanian who averages only 23 with the bat in 55 first class games and many bag Shaun Marsh with a far better record! Time for Voges and the selectors to show some balls and finally promote some batting youth such as Carder, Hardie, Hinchcliffe etc.

Yes you are right Mike it has now changed to Cartwright out not Wells on the cricket website (was showing Short and Wells out when I checked earlier)...hopefully the fella makes the most of it as I daresay his career is on the line as is Cartwright's spot in the side!
