Mike I thought I heard on the radio coverage of the WA vs SA game that the players chosen for the 1st Test vs India in Adelaide would not be available for the next round of Shield games hopefully I heard that wrong tho?!

That would be stupid, why wouldn't they want the test players to play to give them the opportunity to tune up for the game and provide some much needed publicity for the shield competition!?!
CA are a joke.

Just found out that Jhye Richardson has taken 6-22 off 14 overs in the shield game at Optus Stadium to reduce the Blue Baggers to 7 -140. That would have to be getting him close to test selection you would think, would be certainly tempting to pop him in for the 2nd test v India at the same ground as the opposition wouldnt know a lot about him.

Mikeh, he is bowling at good pace, and moving the ball around both ways. It could be a very interesting test match and difficult for the batters if the pitch is like this for the test. No point playing a spinner

Richardson finished with the astonishing bowling figures of 8 for 47 which is the equal 3rd best bowling performance for WA in the Sheffield Shield behind Ian "Sticks" Brayshaw with his 10 for against the Prics at the WACA back in the 1960s!

I believe it is also the best bowling figures at a venue in its maiden match in Australia knocking over Michael Peirce's 8 for 111 at the Adelaide Oval back in the early 1890s!

Brilliant performance also by the IT people who managed to create the WACA scoreboard on the big screens and also created a picket fence around the electronic signage around the boundary. Well done.

Another very disappointing performance by the batsmen, Shaun Marsh excluded. This was the 2nd choice NSW attack as well apart from Lyon so it was pretty abject. Guys like Cartwright, Turner and Stonis are not performing up to their ability and 200 just won't be a competitive score in a 4 day game. Contrast that with the NSW batsmen who despite Jhye Richardsons firestorm managed to scrape up 260 despite being in more trouble than WA at one stage. Mitch Marsh is a walking wicket at the moment and the Indian bowlers will not be losing any sleep at the prospect of him batting at 6 for Australia in a weeks time.

Gee I thought the first innings was pretty bad. It was nothing on the 2nd innings. Time for a rest for Turner and Cartwright I think. They will probably get a reprieve for the next game due to the Marsh brothers departure to the Australian squad. Josh Phillipe could count himself very unlucky to be dropped for this game as he has scored more runs than Turner and Cartwright combined. He will be back next game no doubt. Bosisto is better off at number 6 which is where he has scored all his runs this season.
Jhye Richardsons match figure of 11-99 are totally wasted because of the complete incompetence of the batting.
Perhaps Sam Whiteman could be looked at if he gets some runs in the CA game V India.or D'Arcy Short who is also playing in Sydney. Also while I'm on that game well done to young WA bowler Aaron Hardie who took 4 - 50 today with Virat Kohli no less as his first wicket!

Time for wholesale changes Mike this batting line up just continue to fail.
Phillipe & Short will come back in maybe Whiteman but time to give some of our other promising young blokes like Carder, Hinchcliffe, Hardie etc a go as well we have got nothing to lose.
