Wyllie is only young (21 in April) but he has already played 21 FC games now and has an average of 22.54 (1-100, 2-50s) which is well below the standard you would expect of a WA batsman Southy.

No first class team should get bowled out for 66 on any surface, just a pathetic performance. Its amazing how quickly WA have fallen off the cliff this year, time for some soul searching now that the Shield defence is all but over.
Even so I think the curator deserves a brick bat for producing a wicket where 34 wickets fell for 370 runs in a day and a half. Not good enough. There has been no rain in the lead up so no excuses there. McAndrew is not a bad bowler but this pitch made him look like Dennis Lillee. Other times a road is produced there as per the game v Queensland earlier in the season.
Didnt WA get bowled out by Tassie for about 60 in a one dayer before christmas?. They have had some dramatic collapses at other times this year as well

cannot be selected again until taught to play shots or to just show some intent just basic batting intent - but had far too many chances compared to some other players already mate
haven't seen anything in Critchell to suggest there's something there so far either
couple of the older guys probably need to be gradually phased out when the injured ones return as it looks to be time

Isn't Wyllie scoring Premier grade runs? I guess at 20 odd, the kid just needs to find a way to transfer his Premier grade performances onto the Shield stage. Hoogenboezem is the young fella from Freo Southy might be referring to

I guess Whiteman and Bancroft will be needed for a few more years yet to guide this apparent RAT pack Voges speaks off.....Voges has appeared to of lost his midas touch this year.....good coaxhing challenge for him to right the sinking WA ship.

Seven seasons ago, gtrxuone.
Cam Bancroft scored 228 not out in WA 's first innings and Jake Weatherald (now playing for Tasmania) scored 152 and 143 for SA.
Of those who played in the just-completed match, only three players - Hilton Cartwright, Ashton Turner and Jake Lehmann - appeared in that 2017-18 game.

I thought it was a terrific game on a number of levels. Give me a green top and two day 40 wicket contest over 3/500 over two days anytime. Bowlers get fkall in this game as it is.

First time I've sat through a session and seen a whole innings. Something to tell the grandkids one day.

SA have been the shitkickers of the competition for too long. Great to see them finally developing a competitive team. Love Ryan Harris and I really hope they kick on and make the Shield final from here.

I never cease to be amazed by the inability of modern batsmen to counter any hint of movement in a wicket. Stop producing absolute roads at district level and we might be able to produce some decent batsmen. That pitch was no where near as deadly as the result suggests.

Pity I didn't get to lunch in the Bradman Room today but heh, we all have to make sacrifices for the good of the game.

Todays results in the shield have kept WA in the hunt for a four peat even though they are currently sitting on the bottom of the ladder. Tasmania beat the Vics by 20 runs and Queensland thrashed NSW. So with 3 rounds to go here is the table

SA   36.93
Vic   29.64
Qld   27.75
Tas    26.01
NSW  25.49
WA     24.91

South Australia have opened up a 7 point gap and are looking good things for a home final at the moment, but the gap between 2nd and 6th is only 4.7, so still all to play for.
Mind you WA have to find a way to stop these horrendous batting collapses that have happened far too frequently this season or they will end up exactly where they are placed now
