Ryan Harris is a monty for coach of the year....dragged annual wooden spooners in SA to the cusp of a Shield final....and a home one to boot......well done to the fella.....rags to riches fairytale...whereas Voges is stuck in a prince to pauper nightmare.

As you say mikeh, WA still have hope, but have they the desire?.....difficult after a 3 peat....more to do with the top 6 then the bowling attack.....does Voges roll the dice or keep the faith.....time will tell.

Yes you do wonder about the desire Freezin. The one ray of hope I'm hanging on to is that around this time last year, WA were thrashed by NSW at the WACA, which seemed to dash WA's hopes of a three peat. Voges used this defeat as a rallying point and with the help of a few favourable results in other games, they won their last 3 matches to grab a home final.
There is still an opportunity for history to repeat itself but there are a number of problems with the batting that will need to be resolved in the next game. The bowling unit are capable of taking 20 wickets in a match but they need the batsmen to be making competitive scores to enable them to ply their wares

You would hope that Whiteman will be fit to play after his infected foot kept him out of the SA game, Not sure where Bancroft is at, he may have been ruled out for the rest of the season given his shoulder injury. D'arcy Short may be worthy of consideration. He did a great job in the final last year when Bancroft was unable to take his place
Fanning is worth persisting with. Anyone who got close to 50 on that WACA pitch deserves another chance. They also need more from Cartwright and Turner as experienced middle order batsmen.

Another dreadful defeat at the hands of SA today in the one day game.
We are headed for the wooden spoon in both the Shield and One Day Comp.
Some of our batting dismissals have to be seen to be believed.
They do know you have 50 overs to chase a very modest 209, you dont have to knock the runs off in 20 overs!!!
Mahli Beardman with 4 wickets in just his 2nd game one of the rare highlights in a very forgettable year!

Sadly another soft batting performance by WA....the bowlers do their job in restricting SA to just over 200.....then the batting line up rolls up..... and merely rolls over. Great effort by the young quick BH, only shining light in that meek WA performance......

Actually some encouraging performances across all games in terms of performance youth wise....Beardman with a 4 for, Konstas and Hearne with tons, Vidler takes a couple, Scott scoring runs and taking wickets....Dixon and Fanning showing flashes of potential.....perhaps Voges needs to go all in with youth for these remaining DJ cup games....
