If you also look up the rules you'll see you make contact with the player first then notify the other club. How are you suppose to know if they are contracted before talking to them??

If there was any issue with the way it's been handled, I'm sure Perth would complain and EF would be investigated. To my knowledge that hasn't happened

No, no, no. First you seek permission of the other club to talk to the player.

Smokey
For your benefit:
1.2.3.1 Notice of Player Discussion
In order to ensure transparency across the WAFL, Players and/or representatives of, are prevented
from holding discussions with WAFL Clubs other than their own, without notifying their WAFL Club.

The obligation to notify a WAFL Club of any discussions with one of their Listed Players provides
that WAFL Club with the opportunity to consider that Player’s position and where appropriate,
hold their own discussions in relation that Player’s future at the WAFL Club.
These provisions ensure transparency across the WAFL in the interests of all WAFL Clubs.

Only in the rules and regulations pertaining to training with another club does it state you need permission.

I hope this clarifies it for you! QED

It’s my understanding that EF have let Quill train but Perth haven’t let Leggett.

One is contracted and an established league player, the other is not. Simple as that.

Both are ineligible and EF did the right thing by the player. Doesn’t matter who they are, great to see our club put the players interests first. I do hope if it doesn’t work out for Quill that he comes back.

Then probably young Perth players not long out of colts Joel Kalajzic and Michael Edwards weren’t eligible either but the club didn’t stand in their way and cleared them to EF. Remember?

I also remember EF clearing a contracted Aidan Tropiano mid-season as well...

That worked out well for you. Hopefully Jayden and Cody get to their requested clubs and we all move on

Freezin wrote: DD....keep on widening the goal posts fella...anyway who mentioned SF....thought we were talking about Perth and EF....does this mean Leggett wants to go to SF now to join Ninja?..I am so confused now.....LOL

Smokester if what you say is on the money, than why hasn't Bobby lodged a complaint to the WAFL about EF underhand ignorance of protocols?...get Bobby to pull the pin and end this farking fiasco right now....if it's so blatant what EF is doing against the rules.... than why has this Leggett saga gone on for as long as it has?....

I reckon Perth should start talking to Souths about a deal for Cody Leggett. Reckon we’d have a much better chance of getting a deal done that satisfies both clubs. Leggett already got a good rental deal going in EF, still not far to training.
