No quite right there Chopper, our board, CEO and footy manager at the time spent money we didn't actually have and failed to adhere to basics like paying gst and super.
That is why we went broke.
We never had the money of Subi and are back doing what we should have been doing, developing our own and and spending within our means.
Subi are the only club who makes a decent profit and has the ability to buy whoever they want as evidenced by targeting swans players and offering more than their swans contracts.
Anyway, enough of that considering this is about swans and the Sharks

probably should continue this on another thread - but I agree to disagree.
I'm off to the footy to see the magoos - Talk later on this and the other topics above from the Swan's supporters.

Chopper what you seem to have forgotten (and being a $ubi supporter probably dont know much about) was Swans had around 25 players drafted to the AFL from 2007-12 ..how else do you replace at the very least half of them?!

Good luck to the debutants if your right and they play Freezin.I must say though in a pivotol game in the season it is a brave move. Perry and franklin are not tall adding to the lack of height with Hooker , Williamson,Locantro,Boyle and others.
The other one is Ellis playing ressies when we have lost Dalzeil , Hampson,Perham why would you not play the forward who has produced the most goals for you this year? The other forwards like Lester smith and Boyle cant seem to score or get hands on the ball enough for that matter. I havnt seen these debutants produce enough at ressies level to think they will have a big impact today.
Mcgough is also on 1 leg and couldnt even run after half time last week , surprised he will get up today the way he looked.
I hope im wrong as EP,Cl and Peel await us all in form and will finish our season in the next 3 weeks.

gutted to lose another close one, but it looks like all three debutants held their own and contributed to the cause......Perry with 3 goals on debut, Franklin with nearly 20 possessions and Fletcher with hit outs in the high 20's.......did Young stay more forward than on the ball?..... looked like it with his 3 goals...though TBH it was only SD.... see how they go v EP and Cl over the next fortnight before heaping too much praise on them!

Good to see Ellis find some goals in the reserves, surely he will be back, along with Perham for next week......lots of new names in the reserves I see.....the club must be riddled with injuries, especially amongst the 2nd tier lot......no Howson, Edwards, Barone, Regan, Stokes, Lyndsay, Jacob Green and Piggot.....injured?....departed?

4 losses on the trot have seen the club fall from 2nd to 8th, still a blanket over 7 teams, so I guess still a shed load to play for, but great to see Dodd put faith in some youngsters, hopefully a silver lining for the dismal last 4 weeks of footy......

good win by the colts, great to see big Luke kick another 5......also debuts to some more 16 yr old youngsters in McGrath and Sorrell(K)......bye in the state games next weekend, so hopefully the likes of Snadden, Cronan, Zurhaar and Harrold will be back along with Delaney from injury......

What a season its turning out to be. Apart from the two bookends on the ladder there's absolutely nothing between the others. Despite the closeness of the scores, I felt that Swans were the better team for most of the day today but made it hard for themselves by turning the ball over with basic skill errors which often led to EF goals. This was particularly evident in the 3rd quarter. I was very impressed with the EF youngsters Freezin, particularly eye catching was Perry who showed a lot of poise under pressure and marks the ball well. Great game of WAFL footy.

MO - thanks but when u spend money you don't have that's still called broke???
BH - just because I'm a $ubi supporter doesn't mean I don't know anything about other clubs and who's had players drafted. I'm amazed at how touchy you Swans guy's are - your the best.
Maybe you guys just start up a Swans Super League and play with yourselves ???
Any other team fills the gaps and they're spending big & not supporting their own but you guys only recruit when players are drafted - just topping up ??? Every club tries to get recruits but you guys can't this year because your broke. Now you crap on how your supporting your district ??? I call a spade a spade & don't suggest by any means $ubi are perfect or the WAFL is played on an even keel. The wafc should step in and ensure the clubs are doing everything above board - I don't live in a glass house. I support Subi and the WAFL & have done for about 40yrs but some of you guys think ur clubs shit doesn't stink ? I know because Subi were shit for years and believe it or not we to had a period of time (probably a lot shorter) when our players were getting drafted to the AuFL
I don't support or give a shit about the AFL only the WAFL and prefer to see a local like Rumba for Subi playing out his career in the WAFL. Just remember us other supporters are just as passionate about our clubs and have been around long enough to see the cycles of footy do a full circle. As a kid I remember if Subi weren't last then it was swans or even the Tiggers. We all take criticism from other club supporters but some of you guys struggle.
We're all in the same comp and we're all passionate - that's why I'm tapping my bulky little fingers on this stupid f-ing keyboard !!! Anyway good win today

Well done to SD. A big win for them to stay in touch with the 5 and back to the drawing board for us.

Will Perham & Read come straight back in with all 3 debutants doing well? Ellis doing very well with 6 in the ressies. Letster-Smith could be in the gun I feel. Stevo & Dalziell could be a chance to come back in as well.

Season defying for us coming up in the next few weeks. Let's hope a win against EP can reignite our season. :pinch:
