Anchor pretty sure EF had 3 boys playing their first year of league footy compared to Peels four....and dont forget those 4 were good enough to be picked out from the 1000s available AUSTRALIA wise.....not EF DISTRICT wise like Anthony, Stokes and Schleicher were......anyway EF lost because they werent good enough on the day.......its about time the likes of Taberner, Duffy, Hannath, Apeness etc (too many to list) actually stood up and dominated a WAFL match like they are supposed to.......also Griffen would/should be EF number 1 ruckman and Duffy EF number 1 small forward.....but hey what gets me is that Peel......and I mean Peel recruited or local players....(not aligned......pretty hard to recruit 16 players these days.....not enough points available)......kicked a measly 3 of Peels 15 goals..........pretty sure the likes of Taberner, Apeness, Crozier, Ballard,Hannath, Ballard &Weller wouldnt know where Peel was unless aligned to the FFC........and more so Peel wouldnt have the points or funds to recruit them in the first place if they were a stand alone WAFL club......but hey you got to work with what you have and Peel won the 4 pts.....just look at Peels reserves and colts to see where Peel would be if they werent FFC love child.

The alignment is what it is anchor....bit of russian roulette....EF have seen both sides of the roulette wheel this year.....at least EF now plays all the other WAFL clubs now to guage where they sit on the table......like I said before at the start of the season with that early draw most EF fans would of plumped for a 1-2 start...just would of thought Peel would of been the gimme game and not EP......Peel will definitely improve as long as Freo stay fit and have a stable 25......good to hear Duffy played well and has developed his game beyond just being an opportunistic forward....well at least the WAFL level.....cant see him getting into Freos midfield or ahead of Waltersand Ballyntyne though....would love Griffen to help EF ruck stocks as well too!

Footyfan2 wrote: EF well beaten by a much better team! Subi did the same the week before........... Perhaps we need to face up to the fact that we have an ageing team. You can't beat the exuberance of youth........look at a number teams who consistently inject youth each year with great success. ( Claremont, West Perth, Subiaco). We are not going to win a Premiership this year. We need to sacrifice a few seasons and develop our younger players into league players.

shit I thought we did pretty well in getting untold numbers of kids drafted in the past 10 years or am I mistaken?????

Yes they train as full time footballers but are still young kids.

'young kids'
yeah....drafted as some of the best in the country over a few years
wouldn't mind a taberner, hannath or apeness in our fwd line....I'd say I speak for all non g7 clubs
