16 according to the West Australian Swan or about three quarters of the team. You would wonder why the team is still called Peel.....

Thanks Mikeh: how indeed can anyone suggest that a team with 16 full time professional footballers could be construed to be Peel? It is patently nonsensical.

Therein also lies the problem with the integrity of the WAFL competition in that East Fremantle have had to play a virtual AFL team whereas if the Dockers have a run of injuries in a few weeks and dip into some of their reserves it significantly weakens Peel for games against other WAFL opposition who may be battling with the Sharks for a finals spot. It turns the competition into a lottery because the Sharks were lucky enough to get a weakened East Perth in round 1 as the Eagles kept many of their players out.

Mikeh you can also throw in the way the fixtures have been done where it is possible to play a team once and then have months before you play them again. Conversely it is possible to have to play a club twice in 4 - 5 weeks. It should be fixtured where the clubs play each other spread over the season as evenly as possible.

Why would he have to do that a/man. What he said vis a vis East Freo may well be a legitimate comment notwithstanding that 16/22, ie about 72 % of the team, were full time professional footy players playing agianst part time players. That is an indisputable fact and prostitutes the WAFL competition and is the source of most of the angst.

You can't beat the exuberance of youth........look at a number teams who consistently inject youth each year with great success. ( Claremont, West Perth, Subiaco). We are not going to win a Premiership this year. We need to sacrifice a few seasons and develop our younger players into league players.

The loss of Peake, Dodd and Howlett have created opportunities. Players to debut so far this year Regan, Stokes, Schleicher, Dion Anthony on top of other youngsters in recent years such as Jupp, Dorotich, Ellis, Read, Williamson plus a couple of others in Ritchie Bourne, Tyler Chalwell (Work), Howson and Hooker.

It is evident and has been for more than 10 years that we need a key forward to regularly kick goals and Chalwell or Howson could have helped to fill this gap but unfortunately they are not available!

Yawnnnnn gez still going on about the alignment. Time to accept it and move on.
They had similar numbers of AFL listed players last season.
Time you realised that the AFL controls football.
