Good luck to SD colts as I remember belting them last season which had a lot of younger players and they have now formed into a very good team.

The PROBLEM is not what is paid it is WHAT IS NOT PAID; what WOROBEC paid to East Fremantle in their forward line was let go in our forward line. That is the problem. It is an absolute joke that Worobec is considered in the top 6 umpires in the WAFL. If he is in the top 6 what a damning indictment on the abilities of those not in the top 6. Worobec took 7 QUARTERS to award us a free kick this season 7 QUARTERS. Until the Umpires' Advisors and coaches refuse to allow an umpire to umpire league until he is good enough we will continual to have to put with the likes of Worobec et al. For Freezin and others of that ilk I was loathe to comment on the umpiring on this thread as East Freo won the game convinvingly in the final analysis.

However, I am not going to put up with some of the comments by East Freo supporters and other vis a vis we are whingers and we choke. No Swans' supporters can be anything other than immensely proud of the Swan Districts Football club's performances in all grades (Colts, Ressies, League and our Women's teams).

Joan t, I remember the 1965 GF. As a boy, I and a few mates sat in a paddock with the old tranny and yelled like we were at the game. It was such a good game that it played on my mind for so many years till I bought a tape of it from the ABC in the 90's. I've watched it a few times over the years.

LOL......got no probs saying that SD handed EF their arse too them in the first quarter that day.....great side that SD team was,one of the best............now let's zip forward 30 years to a certain SD side that choked in a 1st semi by giving up a 5 goal lead......Farken down right embarassing to say the least.....touch wood none of those 1984 SD boys were watching Sun game....

..still bemused that a lot of SD fans blame their last quarter choke on a few of their players being sore and no petrol left in the tank after a long season!.....pretty sure SD were coming off a bye and had over 2 weeks off from their last H&A game to freshen up.......FMD hopefully SD will have enough rest between now and next seasons first game to remedy this......thank fark SD colts boys are made of sterner stuff!

yeah they had a great start to the season.....kudos for that....but TBH come the latter half of the season SD were actually just above Perth as the worst club in the league..hard to swallow but tell me...how many did you guys lose on the trot at the end?.....you fell into finals....but hey that is your good fortune and Cl misfortune......good luck to your colts boys by the way too for their GF......gotta move forward I guess......yeah I know Subi will kick EF arse this week to shut me up.....if they do then so be it.....but that 9 goal last quarter was a classic and will be fondly remembered by a few folk here on the EF thread.

I would think the only time you will shut up is when you shuffled on your mortal coil. Speaking of classics I can recall a certain 1984 GF where Swans kicked 9 goals in the first quarter of that match.

I reiterate by any measure of success Swans have had an outstanding year.

Try 10 goals in that 1st qtr 42 ..that really takes some doing, any old club can kick 9!

I don't think our old mate frosty has ever got over it either!!

I didn't want to rub his nose in it BH; double digits in the first qtr of a GF - not bad.

And we were the underdogs in that GF too 42!
But according to old mate kicking 9 goals in the last qtr as red hot favourites on your own dungheap with a side with more than double the experience of ours was a far greater achievement than slotting 10 snags in a GF qtr!

yes I have umpired for a short time and the job sucks hence a very short stay from me, guess I didn't have the inflated ego required to match Worobec who is useless and at times abusive towards players...bloke is a flog as an umpire (can't fairly comment outside of footy)

The 84 GF 1st qtr was awesome to watch, the 2nd qtr effort from EF to kick 9 is often forgotten

Could be interesting if EF gets into the GF... They seem to have the ability to knock over teams and come from a long way back. It makes wonder just how good they are if they played 4 qtrs of footy.. Shit I was at the CL V EF game when it was over and they kicked 9 goals straight to get back in the game and ran out of steam and CLA had a very good side in that day... Not sure how many AFL or X AFL CLA had in the side.

Would be a good game up to a point I suspect and EF could just get over the line if they were consistant and Malaxos gets his Match plan right..
Comming out hard and getting a few goals up early could be the way to do it.
If they can come back like they did against Swans it shows they have the fitness and the team to do it.

Have a feeling Subi will be a bit down this week and they should win that one but whether the game will take a bit of wind out of their sails or not will be the question.

The week off by EP could be against them plus their opinion it will be easy might give EF and advantage...

Big call but it could happen... Well we can always hope...

We did it last year with EP having 6 AFL players now it is 12 but we didnt just win we THRASHED EP in the end as they lost the plot and gave up because their BIG heads were became to heavy in the end and once beaten threw in the towel.

DW it was EF and SD. We were I think 21 points up going in to the last qtr with a slight breeze. Perhaps I should also mention that EF had lost the previous 3 GFs to Swans, Swans and Claremont respectively.

To complete the story we lost the 1943 GF to East Freo.

I was not born than either, but EF were due: the loss to Claremont the year before was very narrow indeed. Hey Swan 42, What happened in 1964? Your beloved Swans were leading the competition until the state game mid season apparently, before missing the bloody four.
