Cheers DD and from other opposition fans congratulating EF on their win. Much appreciated.

58 I reckon I might offer Big D a shoulder/ear to vent....as it looks like it's pretty space company wise on the Peel thread.

Looking forward to some wise words from FF2....surprised he has been so quiet over EF finals campaign.... hopefully the fella will be pleased as us, that the 25 year drought has been broken....and the likes of  his faves in Monaghan and Jupp have achieved the spoils they  have and the team have worked so hard for.

With the new digs likely not quite ready for RD 1 we will have to do the unfurling of our new premiership flag down at Mandurah.

Well done Sharkies. Was cheering hard, although I did start to get 1985 flashbacks and had to deep breathe.

Your midfield were great. Great pace. Peel mids never settled. Ferocious attack on the ball.  Think Peel were a bit beat up, though.

Was surprised at the Peel support from the crowd: mainly Docker's fans I think.

Great day for the wafl. The music was too loud and mostly completely unnecessary. Ditto, at the Camfield.

Great result for your team but a great result for the traditional WAFL clubs.

Fantastic game and game plan by the coaches and players. I was worried when O'Reilly didn't come in and it didn't always work but they went wide I50 to negate Blight and Hamling. Midfield and forward pressure was the best I've seen and the backs were again rock solid- making scoring difficult.

Murdock outstanding. Joyce not far behind and Fraser Turner, Lennon Marlin and Ben McGuire - lesser known recruits at the time - played key roles, not just yesterday, but across the season.

I never thought I'd see another flag 6-7 years ago. But Bill, Doddy, the coaches and staff have turned it around and thats what made yesterday so special. All while not having a true home ground.

Great stuff by everyone involved and here's to 2024!

Well done Old Easts. I am happy for all their supporters, but especially those on this forum and the club's younger followers - and there seemed many at the game yesterday - in their late teens/early twenties that had never known premiership success.

Despite the rushed presentation of the colts medals, I was impressed that the umpires hung around at the end of the seconds and colts. Need to remember, though, to include their contribution in the winning captain's and coach's speeches.

Managed to score a couple of freebies so me and the boy headed down and glad we did, pleasantly surprised with the crowd of 27k+, 75% EF or non EF WAFL supporters, Freo mob were loud for a while but the EF second half saw them hustling to the exits.

Brilliantly coached by Billy and his coaching panel, he obviously watched the prelim and learnt how not to play Freo, going in with a smaller very mobile forward line and the big bodies in the mids were more than a match for the Freo boys. EF were so disciplined and composed and very very hard at the contest which some of the Freo princesses did not like, they dont like being tackled or bumped, especially by mere part time WAFL players.

All you EF boys on here can now sit back and watch the replay 20 or 30 times over the summer, congrats to you all.

Agree SS. As a neutral, I thought the game was won and lost by contested possessions and East Freo were ferocious when the ball hit the ground. Peel didn't like the intensity and guys like O'Driscoll spent most of the game pushing blokes around because he did't appreciate the attack on the player or the ball.

Well done to East Freo coaches for identifying FARTs soft spots and the players for implementing the game plan perfectly.

A very well-deserved GF win by EF, who comfortably set the standard in the second half of the season.
While I wish that he was still at EP, full credit to Benny McGuire for becoming a premiership player (following in the footsteps of Mitch Dobson's move to WP a year earlier).
More seasons than not, there are one or two players who play in a premiership team in their first season at a new club after not realising their full potential at their original club.
The Sharks have raised the bar high and it will be up to the other nine clubs to improve significantly in order to challenge in 2024,
