Relax Sharkies.  

You guys are a shoe in for the grand final this year. 

That’s a big call this far out JL, but would be nice if it happens though.  One obstacle will be the AFL and their draftS.

Congrats to Kaleb Smith on his drafting to Richmond, surprised and gutted for both Hagan and Cleaver on missing out.....especially since both lads acquitted themselves well in their elevation to league footy......funnily enough, if Smith hadn't been drafted, not too sure he would of even cracked a league spot for EF in 2023....

Hopefully both Hagan and Cleaver can put their heads down and replicate what the likes of Baker and Banfield did, after initially missing out in their respective draft years.....Baker especially has been a relegation at the elite level, Hagan is of a similar stature, so there is always a chance for a future opportunity.....ditto for Cleaver....surprised Melbourne didn't draft the kid, reminds me a lot of Trent Rivers in size and ability.

Could also lose Reuben McGuire, currently training with Essendon and hoping to be picked up in the preseason supplementary draft.

Really disappointing for Hagan and Cleaver- both showed enough with the Seniors to get drafted. Hopefully they can push on and create an opportunity in the mid season draft. I guess the scramble will now be on to sign those not picked up (Western, Waterman ect)- not sure the Sharks would be in the mix for any one them though

Good to see McGuire get a chance with the Bombers.....didn't his cousin Ben, come over from EP to play with Reuben though?....pretty sure EF doesn't have enough points for either KC... ..though with Goddard gone and Boekhorst injured,  maybe there might be a few points spare.....be interesting to see who EF go with in the ruck.....especially since I can't  see Strnadica returning, due to work commitments.

Obviously from a depth perspective, disappointing to see Hagan jump over to the SANFL. But hey can't blame the kid grabbing at any opportunity to keep that AFL flame flickering. Rather have Cleaver then Hagan though, Cleaver has more physical attributes to play in a variety of positions and do well. Hagan is a clever footballer, but with Leggett back fit, plus Montubaun and Jetta, EF have a few small forward options.

Not disagreeing with what you say, but I was a bit disappointed to see him go.  He came onto the scene with a lot of promise.

Disappointing to see Hagan go but he would’ve battled to play regular League I would have thought. Make sense to play under the nose of a club that must be interested and hopefully he gets a chance at the next level. If not, here’s to seeing him back in the Blue and White.

I’d say we’re done recruiting wise- squad looks strong- hopefully Bill and co get the synergy going and it’s another positive step forward.
