Ti Em...Looks like from those RL derby crowd numbers mate, the last time EP USED to be any good, was in their clubs last flag winning year of 1978.....I guess that also supports that other argument when EPFC won their last genuine flag....1978.....

Regardless on which ever derby rivalry is better....both derbies have great memories for all concerned when the WAFL was the WAFL, when EF and EP USED to be good.....

Well the East v West Perth game crowds do seem to be in greater decline with the derby crowd easily beating it these days - and with us not being any good. Couple this with East Perth's on-field demise seems their Eagles infatuation has hurt them badly. But enough talk of East and West Perth - yuck and yuck!

The Eagle references are getting a little stale but feel free to keep on using them if it makes you feel better Tim  Tams,and lets hope your cash splash on recruits which probably has maxxed out your points bears fruit,because if you lose to a struggling Royals outfit in a few weeks time,it doesn't bode well for your future.

If we lose? - seems you have downgraded your chances? A few weeks ago you were talking as if an East Perth win (a rare thing in this season!) had already happened and were trying to make bets . Sounds like reality is staring to bite.

RL did you get to see that 1978 EP premiership mate?.....I remember that 79 derby GF vividly....52K +....never ever to be beaten I reckon.....well not until a Perth v SD GF apparently.

It’s probably going to be hard for you to understand, but a true derby isn’t about numbers (even when manipulation is used).  It’s about tradition, history and club disassociation. The WP/EP conflict is just that…a conflict.  Do yourself a favour and delve into the Freo history that built tradition…..or not if you can’t understand what it means.  I think being the Eagles bitches a couple of times round removes any true WP/EPP “conflict”.  Bottom line….the WP/EP “derby” was invented by the press looking for sensationalism many years after the Freo tradition.

If it's all to do with numbers in derby attendance as RL says, then the WCE / Freo derby is the real derby  of WA footy then folks.....40-50K plus crowds since the mid 90s......twice a year.....far outweighs any Freo or Perth derby in that time.....all about the derby crowd numbers apparently STT....
