well we still know the real derbies are the freo ones
freo derby crowd 5914
perth derby crowd 3631

i wonder what the stat would be for freo v perth having the most crowd numbers on foundation/wa day
I imagine it would heavily favour freo derbies

No excuses.........we lost again! I must say KC you look very dapper at the President’s Luncheon on your way to the VIP room. Even with an ageing team it seems Bill will get the nod for another 3 years! Kommer, Lester-Smith, Jupp, Boekhurst, Eardley all either 29/30/31next season.
Jupp would not get a game with any clubs above us. He really is a spud of a player and cost us dearly yesterday with poor disposal and checking!
Saying that he is Buffalo’s favourite..........

You've got to be joking re Jupp yesterday He was excellent and in our best easily!!!
His disposal is questionable at times but he bleeds EF and gives his all for the team. Tell me who would you replace with him currently or who has left the club in recent times?

Oh so West Perth v East Perth is a derby as well? Does it include Perth V West Perth or East Perth too?

As Stevie Marsh once said….”there’s only ONE Derby and that’s the Fremantle Derby”.

When WAFL was WAFL and East Fremantle USED to be good there were 7 20000 plus derby's                         1. E.P v W.P   26760 perth oval 1969
    2  .W.Pv E.P.   24567  leederville oval 1978                                                                                                           3.S.F v E.F.    22399 freo. oval  1979                                                                                                                   4.E.F v SF      21317 east freo oval 1979                                                                                                            5.E.P v WP      21005 perth oval   1961                                                                                                                6. E.P v WP  20363 perth oval       1975                                                                                                            7. EF v SF    20287  e.freo oval 1979...........  So numbers say its Perth Derby's by a landslide.

Cheers for that Royallucky and thanks for pointing out that Old East's are no longer any good. I guess the poor turn out to the game between East and West Perth suggests your mob are even worse. Maybe many fans shot through when you joined the Eagles. Really all you have shown is that Lerderville and Perth Ovals had bigger capacities than Freo and East Freo ovals. After all a Derby crowd of 52,781 in 1979 was a long standing record and larger than any crowd East Perth v West Perth ever managed to attract.

Very flawed argument Ti Em about ground capacity when the 2 freo ovals held 20000 plus crowds on 3 occasions so what was preventing them from reaching 4????? I see the ''Moss Street Stadium of Excellence''highest crowd was 21300 with the second highest 20300 so what makes you think if you had a 25000 capacity you would've gotten anymore?,and all your highest attendances coincided in 1979 when there was a lot of hullabaloo concerning the 150 year celebrations when the prodigal son ''Rolf''returned to be at the forefront and the face of all the festivities[which i'm sure they're regretting now]and there was a heavy emphasis on all cultural and sporting activities, with the WAFL GF being the biggest sporting ticket in town, and EP v WP grandfinals drew 51000 in '69 and '71 and would've in my humble opinion smashed the 52000 crowd number had they played off in that commemorative year,as the game attracted a lot of neutral spectators.

Ever heard of a full stop? Speaking of flawed arguments why would you not think a bigger capacity venue could draw a bigger crowd and why would you think a West Perth and East Perth Grand Final in 1979 would draw a bigger crowd than the derby GF? West and East Perth met 3 times in 1979 and averaged 10K across the games despite all the hullaboo and in a season that drew more fans than any other season has.

You only reached 21000 once on your fleapit,a figure you couldn't repeat so i can't understand why you'd think you could fill a 25000 capacity ground when you second highest figure was 20300,and West Perth finished 2nd last in 1979 so they weren't exactly flying,so yes your arguments like your ground are very flawed.
