Thought there were some good signs for old easts today. That kid Gorringe can play. Dixon has talent. That skinny kid in the midfield was game. Sharks should climb up the ladder from here on I reckon.

I agree. From what I saw against Swans last week and again today, EF are a lot more competitive than they have been for a number of seasons. Now they need to eliminate their habit of drifting out of games for 20 minutes and allowing the opposition to get a run on. Last week Swans won the game in a 20 minute period in the 2nd quarter when they kicked 6 unanswered goals, today it was a similar story at the start of the game and in the 3rd quarter. They have the makings of a good side and if they can put together 4 quarters consistently they will win a lot more games.
It will be interesting to see how they go against Perth in a couple of weeks.

Losing Leggett with a hamstring in the 2nd quarter, Strnadica - hamstring strain and O'Reilly with a broken finger didn't help our cause.
The bad start certainly hurt but to the boys credit we came back and were right in the game. Some poor decision making when we went forward in the 3rd cost us dearly when we could of been a lot closer. Jansen & Boekhorst's simple misses in the last were in-excusable as we were on a roll and had momentum. The rest is history.

Great games from Dixon, Jupp & Eardley. I also thought Davies job on Schloithe was worth noting.
Disappointing to hear the free kick count was 33 - 17 against us. Some baffling decisions to say the least...and the goal after the siren was mind boggling.

Well done to the club - nearly 6,000 in attendance and a great setup around the ground.

How bad was some of Boekhorst’s kicking?? He missed 2 absolute sodas. Leggett was excellent before going down and it looked like a bad hammy. Not sure what O’Rielly did. Jansen in the ruck worked late but he also missed a crucial goal.
Disappointing to lose a 5th game with a 20 min patch of poor football but the makings of a good side are there. Just need to continue to fight for the rest of the season. Good to see the Reserves play well and by all accounts, a great win considering injuries. Time to regroup at the bye and reload of a big 2nd half of the year.

If you had a siren people could actually hear it might be a start.

Would it be possible at the next East Fremantle foundation day derby you could have more that one turnstile open on each gate, having a line from the gate down Allen st as back as Marmion street halfway through the 1st Qrt is Bullshit.
Glad our members did not have to line up though - but you are right Bazza absolutely. Good to hear you have ended your boycott of the ground as well.

I and the other 1000 or so lining up waiting for the one 14 yr old girl to process our payments started to wonder we even bothered. In the end some committee members and the president had to come down and man the gates, FFS.

I heard it loud and clear so perhaps you need a hearing test Bazza.

Bazza is an old fella  don't forget, so hearing isn't going to be his forte mate....especially amongst a 5000 + crowd.

EF fall into the bye with 3/5 record....20-25 min lapses are a weekly occurrence, not helped by piss poor skills from the team's senior players.....sounds like Leggett is gone for a while, O'Reilly too, especially going off how long Chalmers has been out with his finger injury....8 weeks and counting.....need him back that is for sure, though good to see Bockman kick a few.

Obviously English  will be back v Perth,  does Cody Smith finally get a debut?....at 193cm 90 odd kg, he would be needed to help prevent a repeat of Perth's hard at it footy v EF in the last game.....setting up Perth's 6 goal match winning 1st quarter.....what other changes can folk forsee?

Watched some of the telecast, looked like a great crowd in perfect weather.

Now I'm a neutral viewer but the TV commentators were bemused by the goal after the siren, saying it should not have been allowed and several times mentioned that Souths definitely had the rub of the green from the umpires, born out by the lopsided free kick count in a game that was pretty equally matched after the early Souths onslaught. In the time I was watching the umpires continue to be sucked in by Souths players like Schloithe who always seem to duck the head when ever contact is imminent. Up to the WAFC and the umpires advisors to rid this blight from the game.
