In the Marsh article on the West, it mentioned that Jonathon was likely to be used Forward and through the Mids. I had him CHB in my Rd 1 side. Perhaps thats where young McGuire that Strono mentioned will play. I heard he played some strong games down back last season

that is where I would like 'the bull' marsh to play...in the guts
can always swing him into defense or fwd if rqd
big bodies of marsh & jansen to get it out to the likes of eardley, snadden, schoenfeld, boekhurst, english etc
kommer with an aging body should just play as a deep fwd

Sounds good in theory Strono but I don't think Marsh has barely ever played midfield, and I saw him as a 14/15 yo in junior footy and he was key position even then. Would be a ballsy move by Monaghan to try it. Even the greatest of key position players can be failures in the midfield.

Wiley definitely used Marsh through the Midfield at various stages of his tenure. He was a bit of a stopgap- trying to plug holes. I would think we have some defensive depth that he may play Forward or Mid. O’Reilly and Bailey can play both ends. There’s some options anyway

I guess at 194/5 cm his speed and strength, Marsh can play anywhere, depending on the circumstances....big and strong enough to play on the likes of Keitel, Shaw and even Loersch...and then be a Cripps like inside mid or a focal point up front as a 3rd tall...pity his brother signed on for another season at Subi before J Marsh's delisting...

Be interesting to see where Bailey plays, if he evens gets a league spot...though the likes of Dixon and O'Reilly still need to cement their spots yet....time will tell I guess

So Freo are keeping tabs on young Bockman, good luck to the kid. Whilst never good to lose anyone before the season starts or mid season, Bockman is definitely in a queue with others like Chalmers, Ryan, Murphy, Murdock, C Walker and Kommer for a top 22 small forward role...rather a small go then one of the talls TBH.

Well folk can remove Winton from their starting 22, pulled the pin...good opportunity for young Davidson or McGuire to get some exposure up back this year....May see Marsh or O'Reilly playing more back then forward perhaps?

Thanks for the update Freez...shame to hear that Winton will not be playing at Shark Park any longer. Was always a solid contributor down back for us and will definitely be missed.

Wow, maybe he saw the writing on the wall. He's played 80-90 odd games- pity he didn't stick it out to 100. Wonder if he'll end up back at Peel. Any reason why he's left, Freezin?

Apparently always been based in Mandurah during his time at EF, probably had enough of the commute....disappointing to lose that 90+ game experience, hopefully some youngsters under the tutelage of Taylor can take their opportunity....perhaps the cue for Bill to move Bailey back into defence?...Haven't heard if Winton will suit up with Peel, probably play in the Peel local league i guess.
